Adjust Rear-End Door - AR72.20-S-1032E

Model 447.6/7 

MODIFICATION NOTES

15.02.2024 Added: Check all component parts relevant for the adjustment of the rear-end doors for wear, damage and soiling. Operation step 1

WARNING Risk of injury  caused by fingers being jammed or pinched when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/rear-end door or sliding roof. No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area when the components are moving. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
INSPECT Check     
1 Check all component parts relevant for the adjustment of the rear-end doors for wear, damage and soiling. IMPORTANT The rear-end doors may be adjusted only if no problems have been identified.  
2 Check gap dimensions "IA", "IB", "IC", "ID", "IE" and "IF".   AR60.00-S-0700-01E

REMOVING Remove     
3 Remove the cover from the rear-end door trim. Model 447.7 with code V23 (Interior trim, premium version) except code ZU7 (National version for Canada) except code ZU8 (National version for USA) AR72.20-S-6615-01E 
4 Remove inner trim at window frame of rear-end door. Model 447.7 with code V23 (Interior trim, premium version) except code ZU7 (National version for Canada) except code ZU8 (National version for USA)
Model 447.7 with code VK7 (Trim, rear door/liftgate, superior quality) with code ZU7 (National version for Canada)
Model 447.7 with code VK7 (Trim, rear door/liftgate, superior quality) with code ZU8 (National version for USA)		 AR72.20-S-6630E 
5 Remove trim element at corner pillar. Model 447.6/7 with code W50 (Rear-end door, double-wing, 180 degrees without window)
Model 447.6/7 with code W54 (2-wing rear-end door, 270 degrees)		 AR88.85-S-5474E
6 Remove paneling (5).    
7 Remove the trim in the area of the lock striker on the roof frame (7). Model 447.6/7 with code V36 (Panelling under roof)
SPECIAL TOOL Long wedge		 Fig 2
8 Remove the trim in the area of the lock striker on the crossmember (10). Model 447.7 with code V33 (Floor covering in passenger compartment (carpeted)) with code W50 (Rear-end door, double-wing, 180 degrees without window)
Model 447.7 with code V41 (Carpeted floor in passenger compartment) with code W50 (Rear-end door, double-wing, 180 degrees without window)		 AR68.30-S-4785E
  Adjust     
9 Loosen the screws (2, 3, 4, 8, 9).    
10 Adjust gap dimensions "IA", "IB", "IC", "ID", "IE" and "IF". IMPORTANT Adjust rear-end doors one after the other. AR60.00-S-0700-01E

11 Tighten screws (3, 4). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, hinge to body *BA72.20-Z-1001-01KOJ 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, hinge to rear-end door *BA72.20-Z-1002-01KOJ 
12 Adjust the rear-end door so that it is flush by moving the lock striker on the roof frame (7) and the lock striker on the crossmember (10) horizontally and tighten the screws (8). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, lock striker to crossmember *BA72.20-Z-1008-01KOJ 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, lock striker to roof frame *BA72.20-Z-1009-01KOJ 
13 Move the door guides (1) until they come to rest on the door end stops (6) and tighten the screws (2, 9).    
INSPECT Check     
14 Close the rotary tumblers on door locks using a suitable tool, actuate the outer door handle or inside door handle and check whether the door locks open and engage correctly. If the rotary tumblers on the door locks do not close correctly,
↓
adjust the door locks.		 AR72.40-S-4411E 
15 Check gap dimensions "IA", "IB", "IC", "ID", "IE" and "IF".   AR60.00-S-0700-01E

If any deviations are found,

INSTALLING Install     
16 Install the trim in the area of the lock striker on the crossmember (10). Model 447.7 with code V33 (Floor covering in passenger compartment (carpeted)) with code W50 (Rear-end door, double-wing, 180 degrees without window)
Model 447.7 with code V41 (Carpeted floor in passenger compartment) with code W50 (Rear-end door, double-wing, 180 degrees without window)		 AR68.30-S-4785E
17 Install the trim in the area of the lock striker on the roof frame (7). Model 447.6/7 with code V36 (Panelling under roof)  
18 Install the trim element at the corner pillar. Model 447.6/7 with code W50 (Rear-end door, double-wing, 180 degrees without window)
Model 447.6/7 with code W54 (2-wing rear-end door, 270 degrees)		 AR88.85-S-5474E
19 Install trim (5).    
20 Install the inner trim at the window frame of the rear door. Model 447.7 with code V23 (Interior trim, premium version) except code ZU7 (National version for Canada) except code ZU8 (National version for USA)

21 Install the cover on the rear-end door trim. Model 447.7 with code V23 (Interior trim, premium version) except code ZU7 (National version for Canada) except code ZU8 (National version for USA) AR72.20-S-6615-01E
