REMOVING Remove     
1 Read out security code of radio (Audio) (N87/2) via Vehicle Documentation (VeDoc) and enter on the form.    
REFER TO FORMS Provide radio code to customer, form IMPORTANT Hand over form to customer. OF82.60-Z-3000-04KCV
2 Detach ground line of on-board electrical system battery.    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR54.10-S-0003E
3 Remove center instrument panel cover.    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR   Model 447.6/7 except code XM7 (Facelift II) AR68.10-S-3430E
4 Remove USB/AUX connection (A40/10) from center instrument panel cover. SPECIAL TOOL Long wedge Fig 1
5 Remove plugs (7) from USB/AUX connection (A40/10). IMPORTANT Tie back plug (7) with electric lines of the universal serial bus/AUX connection (A40/10) and fix in place with cable ties at factory-installed electrical wiring harness. Hand over removed USB/AUX connection (A40/10) to customer.  
6 Remove radio (Audio) (N87/2) and standard radio installation frame.    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR   Model 447.6/7 except code XM7 (Facelift II) AR82.60-S-7502E
    IMPORTANT Hand over removed radio (Audio) (N87/2) with standard radio installation frame to customer.  
    IMPORTANT Use screws (8) of removed radio (Audio) (N87/2) for fastening CNS head unit (1).  
7 Remove GPS antenna (A2/47).    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR   Model 447.6/7 with code E1N (Becker® MAP PILOT) with code EN7 (Audio 15) Model 447.6/7 with code EN7 (Audio 15) with code EV6 (Becker® MAP PILOT pre-installation) AR82.85-S-0002E
8 Detach center instrument panel speaker (H4/27).    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR   IMPORTANT Do not disconnect electrical wiring plugs. AR82.62-S-7833E
9 Remove right A-pillar trim.    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR68.30-S-4050E
10.1 Remove front overhead control panel (OCP) control unit (N70). MODEL 447.6/7 with CODE LC4 (Comfort overhead control panel) MODEL 447.6/7 with CODE LD0 (Overhead control panel with two reading spots)

10.2 Remove front dome lamp (10). MODEL 447.6/7 except CODE LC4 (Comfort overhead control panel) except CODE LD0 (Overhead control panel with two reading spots)

11.1 Remove hands-free system microphone (B25/4) from front overhead control panel (OCP) control unit (N70). MODEL 447.6/7 with CODE LC4 (Comfort overhead control panel) MODEL 447.6/7 with CODE LD0 (Overhead control panel with two reading spots)  
    IMPORTANT For this, release catch (arrow) at overhead control panel (OCP) control unit (N70) and remove hands-free system microphone (B25/4).  
11.2 Remove hands-free system microphone (B25/4) from front dome lamp (10). MODEL 447.6/7 except CODE LC4 (Comfort overhead control panel) except CODE LD0 (Overhead control panel with two reading spots)  
    IMPORTANT To do so, release catch (arrow) at front dome lamp (10) and remove hands-free system microphone (B25/4).  
12 Remove right sun visor.

13 Remove right grab handle on front roof lining.    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR68.30-S-4330E
14 Remove right top B-pillar trim.    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR68.30-S-4700E
15 Slightly detach front roof lining from right roof frame at side.    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR68.30-S-7607E
    NOTES Carefully detach front roof lining.
Otherwise, the front roof lining may be damaged.
 
    IMPORTANT Do not remove front roof lining.
Do not disconnect electrical wiring plugs.
 
  Preparation     
16 Prepare CNS head unit (1) for installation. IMPORTANT For this purpose, use the CNS head unit (1), cover (2) and supplied screws. AZ82.85-S-0008-01E 
17 Perform aftermarket modification to antenna line to TMC antenna splitter (A28/13) for CNS head unit (1). Model 447.6/7 with code E1N (Becker® MAP PILOT) Model 447.6/7 with code EV6 (Becker® MAP PILOT pre-installation) AZ82.85-S-0008-08E 
    SPECIAL TOOL Wiring harness repair kit, basic Fig 3
18 Prepare adhesive cartridge.    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR   IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools 
Electric or pneumatic squeeze gun

    Repair kit for installing windshields, 1-component adhesive *BR00.45-Z-1180-02A

INSTALLING Install     
CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

19 Retrofit satellite radio antenna (14) with antenna cover (15) in front roof paneling.   AZ82.60-S-0006-02E 
    NOTES Install antenna cover (15) within 5 min after applying adhesive material on front roof paneling. Otherwise the adhesive force of the glue starts to decrease.  
    IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools 
Punch cutter
Hand-held drill
Graduated drill
Wet and dry vacuum cleaner
Electric or pneumatic squeeze gun
 
    Repair kit for installing windshields, 1-component adhesive *BR00.45-Z-1180-02A 
    Cleaner *BR00.45-Z-1025-04A 
    1K-zinc dust paint *BR00.45-Z-1056-07A 
20 Retrofit antenna line (16) for satellite radio antenna (14).   AZ82.60-S-0006-04E 
21 Retrofit SDAR tuner (13).   AZ82.85-S-0014-02E 
22 Retrofit hands-free system microphone (4).   AZ82.70-S-0005-08E 
23 Retrofit GPS antenna (3).   AZ82.85-S-0012-04E 
24 Retrofit connecting cables for CNS head unit (1). IMPORTANT The connecting cables for the CNS head unit (1) consist of the USB connection cables (5) and USB cover (9) as supplied. AZ82.85-S-0008-03E 
25 Retrofit CAN cable with adapter (6) for CNS head unit (1). IMPORTANT Install the CAN cable with adapter (6) with supplied antenna adapter. AZ82.85-S-0008-05E 
    SPECIAL TOOL Wiring harness repair kit, basic Fig 3
26 Retrofit CNS head unit (1).   AZ82.85-S-0008-02E 
27 Attach ground line of on-board electrical system battery.    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR54.10-S-0003E
28 Make basic settings on CNS head unit (1). NOTES To do so, operate parking brake.
This enables the setting to be made on the CNS head unit (1) in the control menu.
 
    IMPORTANT See Owner's Manual.  
29 Fasten front roof lining to right roof frame at side.    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR   NOTES Carefully fasten front roof lining.
Otherwise, the front roof lining may be damaged.

30 Install right top B-pillar trim.

31 Install right grab handle on front roof lining.

32 Install right sun visor.

33 Install center instrument panel cover.

    IMPORTANT Make sure that the USB cover (9) with USB ports is correctly engaged in installation opening of center instrument panel cover.  
34.1 Install front overhead control panel (OCP) control unit (N70). MODEL 447.6/7 with CODE LC4 (Comfort overhead control panel) MODEL 447.6/7 with CODE LD0 (Overhead control panel with two reading spots)

34.2 Install front dome lamp (10). MODEL 447.6/7 except CODE LC4 (Comfort overhead control panel) except CODE LD0 (Overhead control panel with two reading spots)

35 Attach center instrument panel speaker.

36 Install right A-pillar trim.

37 Document retrofitted equipment in VeDoc. IMPORTANT Attach "CNS for satellite radio mode with SDARS antenna retrofitted in roof paneling at front AZ82.85-S-0015E" note under field organization texts to DG 82.  
    IMPORTANT Remove existing code EN6 (Audio 10) or code EN7 (Audio 15).  
    IMPORTANT Model 447.6/7 with code EN7 (Audio 15) with code EV6 (Becker® MAP PILOT pre-installation) Remove existing code EV6 (Becker® MAP PILOT pre-installation).  
    IMPORTANT Model 447.6/7 with code EN7 (Audio 15) with code E1N (Becker® MAP PILOT) Remove existing code E1N (Becker® MAP PILOT).  
38 Connect vehicle diagnosis system, read out fault memory.    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory   AD00.00-S-2000-04E
    IMPORTANT Do not yet remove vehicle diagnosis system.  
39 Perform SCN coding on electronic ignition lock (EZS) control unit (N73).    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR   IMPORTANT Under the "Control unit adaptations" menu item follow the instructions for "SCN coding". AR54.21-S-0015E
    IMPORTANT Do not yet remove vehicle diagnosis system.  
40 Perform SCN coding on instrument cluster (IC) control unit (A1/1).    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR   IMPORTANT Under the "Control unit adaptations" menu item follow the instructions for "SCN coding". AR54.21-S-0015E
INSPECT Check     
41 Perform function test. IMPORTANT See Owner's Manual.
The satellite radio mode must be activated by the customer. For this, hand the instructions supplied by the satellite radio provider to the customer.
