4	Remove outer tapered roller bearing (4)
5	Detach front wheel hub (5) from steering knuckle spindle (6a)	If front wheel hub (5) is firmly attached:

		Clamping pliers Position front wheel hub (5) with radial shaft sealing ring (7) and race (7a) onto steering knuckle spindle (6a) and slide up to end stop with clamp nut (3).	Fig 6
6	Replace radial shaft seal (7)	Only when reusing the front wheel hub (5). Do not remove race (7a) from radial shaft sealing ring (7). Mount race (7a) together with radial shaft sealing ring (7) only. Radial shaft sealing ring (7) is delivered with a preassembled race (7a).	AR33.20-P-0310-03SX

7	Detach race (7a) from radial shaft sealing ring (7)	Only when radial shaft sealing ring (7) was installed with race (7a). Race (7a) cannot be used again even if the front wheel hub (5) is used again. Race (7a) can be carefully prized off as an alternative.	AR33.20-P-0310-03SX

8	Check brake cover plate (8) for damage	Replace if necessary.

9	Check steering knuckle spindle (6a) for discoloration and wear on bearing seats	Discoloration can occur for example through heat buildup due to incorrectly adjusted bearing play, if necessary: ↓
		Replace steering knuckle (6).	AR33.25-P-0400CW
10	Check surface (arrow) of radial shaft sealing ring (7) on steering knuckle spindle (6a)	Check for corrosion and galling. If scoring or corrosion is detected, install radial shaft sealing ring (7) with race (remove worst of corrosion):
		Disassemble/assemble front wheel hub (5).	AR33.20-P-0320CW
11	Check threaded holes of wheel bolts in front wheel hub (5)	If damaged, replace front wheel hub (5).
12	Check inner and outer tapered roller bearing (4) and bearing races	Replace damaged inner and outer tapered roller bearing (4) or bearing races: ↓
		Disassemble/assemble front wheel hub (5).	AR33.20-P-0320CW
13	Install in the reverse order
14	Adjust wheel bearing play		AR33.20-P-0300CW
	Risk of accident  when commissioning the vehicle due to a lack of braking effect when the service brake is operated for the first time after repair work	Before starting engine, actuate brake pedal several times until the pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system.	AS42.50-Z-0002-01A
15	Operate the brake pedal several times until brake pads make contact with the brake disks (1)	Firm resistance should be noticeable at the brake pedal.
