Manual interior lights control, function - GF82.20-P-2000CA
MODEL 207.3/4
Function requirements, general
- No overvoltage or undervoltage (operating voltage range U ≥ 7 ≤ 17.5 V)
Manual interior lights control in general
The manual interior lights control permits the interior illumination, reading illumination, vanity mirror illumination as well as the glove compartment illumination to be switched on and off by operating the relevant switch.
Pressing the switches, some of which are arranged on the housing of the overhead control panel electronics, supplies voltage to the corresponding components.
The overhead control panel electronics are supplied with power through the front SAM control unit. Upon pressing a switch at the overhead control panel electronics, the voltage is supplied to the corresponding component and the component switched on or off.
The manual interior lights control function encompasses the following subfunctions:
- Function sequence for interior illumination
- Function sequence for reading illumination
- Function sequence for vanity mirror illumination
- Function sequence for glove compartment illumination
Function sequence for interior illumination
The following interior illumination components can be switched on or off manually by operating the switches that are located on the housing of the overhead control panel electronics:
- Left front interior lamp and right front interior lamp via the front dome lamp switch
- Rear interior lamp in rear dome lamp over the rear dome lamp switch (on model 207.3)
The front SAM control unit also actuates the following footwell illumination components:
- Right front footwell lamp
- Left front footwell lamp
Function sequence for reading illumination
The reading illumination serves to illuminate a defined area in front of the user, without having a distracting dazzling effect on the driver.
The following reading lamp components can be switched on or off manually by operating the switches:
- Left reading lamp in inside rearview mirror over left front reading lamp switch
- Right reading lamp in inside rearview mirror over the right front reading lamp switch
Function sequence for vanity mirror illumination
The following components of the vanity mirror illumination can be manually switched on or off by folding the corresponding mirror cover open or closed:
- Left sun visor mirror lamp via the left front mirror lamp switch
- Right sun visor mirror lamp over the right front mirror lamp switch
The power supply for the left sun visor mirror lamp and the right sun visor mirror lamp is switched off by folding the mirror cover closed or when the vehicle is locked using the central locking system (CL [ZV]).
To preserve the on-board electrical system battery (G1), the power supply is interrupted t = 30 min after circuit 15 is switched off.
Additional function requirements for glove compartment illumination
- Circuit 15R ON
The electronic ignition lock control unit sends the status of circuit 15 to the front SAM control unit over the interior CAN.
Function sequence for glove compartment illumination
The glove compartment lamp switch is supplied with voltage by the front SAM control unit. Voltage is switched through to the glove compartment lamp by opening the glove compartment lid.
