Function requirements for speaker output, general 

Speaker output, general 

A distinction is made between the following procedures:

Speaker control in the emergency call system (with CODE 348 (Emergency call/Assist system), CODE 350 (Ecall Europe emergency call system Gen. 2) or CODE 359 (TELEAID emergency call system)) :

Speaker output in vehicles with CODE 810 (Sound system) 

The audio signals are routed from the audio equipment via MOST to the sound system amplifier control unit (N40/3), where they are amplified and output via the following speakers using direct lines:

For the bass speaker (H4/17), the audio signal is transmitted via MOST from the audio equipment to the sound system amplifier control unit and from there using direct lines to the woofer via the rear bass speaker amplifier (N40/9).

IMPORTANT MODEL 218 with CODE 348 (Emergency call/assistant system)

MODEL 218 with CODE 350 (Ecall Europe, gen. 2 emergency call system)

MODEL 218 with CODE 359 (TELE AID emergency call system)

The center instrument panel speaker is used for voice output in vehicles with CODE 348 (Emergency call/assist system), CODE 350 (Ecall Europe emergency call system Gen. 2) or CODE 359 (TELEAID emergency call system) and active vehicle-related service via direct lines actuated by the emergency call system control unit (N123/4) (with CODE 348 (Emergency call/assist system) or CODE 359 (TELEAID emergency call system)) or the telematics services communications module (N112/2) (with CODE 350 (Ecall Europe emergency call system Gen. 2)).

Speaker output in vehicles with CODE 811 (Advanced sound system) 

The audio signals are forwarded to the sound system amplifier control unit by the audio equipment via Media Oriented System Transport (MOST), where they are amplified and output via the following speakers using direct lines:

In vehicles up to 31.8.14, the sound system amplifier control unit forwards the audio signals for the speakers listed below to the rear woofer amplifier.

In vehicles up to 31.8.14, the rear woofer amplifier actuates the following speakers via direct lines:

IMPORTANT MODEL 218 with CODE 348 (Emergency call/assistant system)

MODEL 218 with CODE 350 (Ecall Europe, gen. 2 emergency call system)

The center instrument panel speaker is used for voice output in vehicles with CODE 348 (Emergency call/assist system) or CODE 350 (Ecall Europa emergency call system Gen. 2) and active vehicle-related service.

The left front door speaker, mirror triangle and the right front door speaker, mirror triangle have integrated illumination. In vehicles up to 31.8.14, the sound system amplifier control unit actuates the illumination of the speakers via the rear woofer amplifier. In vehicles as of 1.9.14, the sound system amplifier control unit actuates the illumination of the speakers via direct lines.

Speaker output in vehicles except CODE 811 (Advanced sound system) and except CODE 810 (Sound system) 

The audio signals are output via the following speakers by the audio equipment using direct lines:

Speaker actuation in the event of voice output 

For voice output, e.g. as part of the following functions, only the front speakers are actuated:

In vehicles except CODE 810 (Sound system) and CODE 811 (Advanced sound system), the following speakers are actuated for voice output:

In vehicles with CODE 810 (Sound system), the following speakers are actuated for voice output:

In vehicles with CODE 811 (Advanced sound system), the following speakers are actuated for voice output:
