DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by welding or soldering work on closed air conditioning system. Risk of poisoning  caused by inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors. Risk of injury  to skin and eyes caused by contact with liquid refrigerant. Never perform welding work on or near a closed air conditioning system. No smoking or open flames. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated areas. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been drained. AS83.00-Z-0001-01A

IMPORTANT Notes on handling refrigerant R134a   AH83.30-N-0003-01A
  Draining     
1 Press catches (3) in direction of arrow (A), swivel cover (2) upwards in direction of arrow (B) and remove    
2 Unscrew plugs (4)    
3 Connect filler connections (5, 6) of air conditioning service unit to corresponding diagnostic sockets    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 04 82 00 Air conditioning service unit   WS83.00-P-0031B 
    IMPORTANT When operating the air conditioning service unit, proceed in accordance with the operator's manual from the manufacturer.  
4 Suction off refrigerant    
5 Note down quantity of extracted refrigerant as well as compressor oil    
6 Install new desiccant cartridge If required.  
AR83.30-P-6521LW 
  Evacuate     
7 Clean refrigerant and evacuate refrigerant circuit    
8 Conduct vacuum test using air conditioning service unit    
  Filling     
9 Add new compressor oil to the refrigerant circuit according to the oil filling quantity noted during extraction

NOTES
Only use the approved compressor oil.
If it is proven that a different compressor oil has been used, we will refuse to reimburse costs within the warranty and goodwill period. Daimler AG reserves the right to perform reexaminations.
NOTES
Correct oil filling quantity in refrigerant circuit. In the event of an incorrectly measured oil filling quantity, the refrigerant compressor may be damaged.
IMPORTANT Depending on the repair case, the oil filling quantity may need to be adjusted accordingly.
