| 4 | Unscrew nuts (1) and place engine fuse and relay module (K40/8) with connected electrical lines to one side | ||

| 5 | Clean traction system hydraulic unit (A7/3) in the area of the brake line connections | Before opening the hydraulic system, the area surrounding the connecting points should be thoroughly cleaned. Otherwise minute particles of dirt in the hydraulic components can result in malfunctions and total failure of the hydraulic system. Do not use any compressed-air for cleaning when the brake system is open. |

The work instructions for disconnecting the electrical connection (2) must be followed. Otherwise damage can be caused to the locking mechanism. The contacts on the electrical connection (2) on the Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4) must not be touched, deformed or damaged, and foreign objects, soiling or fluids must not penetrate into the electrical connection (2). Otherwise the Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4) may be damaged or may malfunction. |

| 7 | Identify brake line (3) relative to the corresponding connection on the traction system hydraulic unit (A7/3) | ||
| 8 | Detach brake lines (3) from traction system hydraulic unit (A7/3) | Seal brake lines (3) and connections on traction system hydraulic unit (A7/3). Otherwise the traction system hydraulic unit (A7/3) may be damaged by the entry of foreign objects. Pay attention to marking. |
