REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of poisoning  caused by inhaling vapors or swallowing adhesive. Risk of injury  caused by adhesive coming into contact with skin and eyes Wear respiratory protection, protective gloves and safety glasses. Pour adhesive into suitable and appropriately marked containers only. AS00.00-Z-0016-01A
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  caused by swallowing battery acid. Risk of injury  caused by burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A

3 Remove seat and console IMPORTANT Remove only right seat with console AR91.10-P-3300GR
4.1 Remove rear seat IMPORTANT Only on vehicles with individual seats in rear. AR91.12-P-1000SA
4.2 Remove rear seat backrest IMPORTANT Only on vehicles with individual seats in rear. AR91.12-P-1620PM
5 Remove right rear seat from console IMPORTANT Only on vehicles with individual seats in rear. AR91.12-P-1680PV
6 Remove inside rearview mirror   AR68.40-P-0001GM 
7 Remove inside rearview mirror base (1)    
8 Remove overhead control panel control unit (N70)   AR82.20-P-1000GM
9 Remove bolt (38) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Use new microencapsulated bolts (38).  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA68.30-P-1005-01B 
10 Remove left sun visor (2) and right sun visor (3) IMPORTANT Pivot left sun visor (2) and right sun visor (3) to side, unscrew bolts from bracket (4)
Disconnect electrical connector and remove left sun visor (2) and right sun visor (3).		  
11 Remove handsfree system microphone (B25) from headliner (13) IMPORTANT Only for model 463.248 with code (979) Special protection version
IMPORTANT Handsfree system microphone (B25) is only clamped		  
MPECIAL TOOL *110589035900
12 Remove bearings (5) for sun visors IMPORTANT Mounting screw is located below flap (6).  
13 Remove grab handles (7) IMPORTANT For this purpose, carefully pull back covers (8) and unscrew bolts.  
14 Remove rubber frame from door entry (9) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Rubber frame from door entry (9) should be positioned correctly in trim parts  
15 Remove door entry covering (10) IMPORTANT Carefully remove door entry coverings (10). The door entry coverings (10) are fastened with double-sided adhesive tape, danger of breakage.  
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Replace double-sided adhesive tape. *BR00.45-Z-1085-02A 
16 Remove rubber frame from cargo space opening (29) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Load compartment opening rubber frame (29) must be positioned correctly in trim parts.  
17 Remove coverings (12) IMPORTANT Coverings (12) are fastened with Velcro connection, loosen carefully.  
18 Remove load compartment panelings (11) IMPORTANT Load compartment panelings (11) are fastened with Velcro connection, loosen carefully.  
19 Remove left rear reading lamp (E11/1) and right rear reading lamp (E11/2)   AR82.20-P-1120GR
20 Remove left rear dome lamp (E15/8) and right rear dome lamp (E15/9)    
21 Remove left and right front seat belt guide bracket (15) from belt height adjuster (17) IMPORTANT For this purpose, unclip cover (14) from front seat belt guide bracket (15) on B-pillar paneling (16)  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA91.40-P-1002-01C 
22 Unclip bolt covers (18) from B-pillar paneling (16) and unscrew mounting bolts below IMPORTANTInstallation:  Use new micro-encapsulated bolts.  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA68.30-P-1011-01B 
23 Remove front belt reel cover (19) IMPORTANT For this purpose, remove bottom clip (20)  
24 Remove B-pillar paneling (16) IMPORTANT Fasten B-pillar paneling (16) with double-sided adhesive tape. Carefully detach glue bead.
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Replace double-sided adhesive tape.		  
25 Remove C-pillar upper belt guide fitting (21) from belt height adjustment (22) IMPORTANT Unclip bolt cover (23) and unscrew bolts below  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA91.40-P-1005-01C 
26 Unclip bolt covers (24) from C-pillar paneling (25) and unscrew mounting bolts below IMPORTANTInstallation:  Use new micro-encapsulated bolts.  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA68.30-P-1010-01B 
27 Remove rear belt reel cover (26) IMPORTANT Rear belt reel cover (26) is fastened with double-sided adhesive tape Carefully detach glue bead.
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Replace double-sided adhesive tape.		  
28 Remove rear seat belt guide bracket (27) IMPORTANT For this purpose, unclip screw cap (28) and unscrew screw.  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA91.40-P-1001-01C 
29 Remove fire extinguisher agent reservoir IMPORTANT Only on vehicles with fire extinguisher system. AR86.10-P-0100A
30 Remove C-pillar paneling (25) IMPORTANT B-pillar paneling (25) is fastened with double-sided adhesive tape. Carefully detach glue bead.
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Replace double-sided adhesive tape.		  
31 Remove stowage box IMPORTANT Only on model 463.236/248 with code (979) Special protection version, with code (ZS6) Special protection version FB6, with code (E26) Additional battery 100 Ah including cutoff relay,
Model 463.236/248 with code (979) Special protection version, with code (ZS7) Special protection version FB7, with code (E26) Additional battery 100 Ah incl. cutoff relay		 AR68.72-P-0010PM 
32 Unclip bolt covers (30) and unscrew bolts from rear wall paneling (31) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Use new micro-encapsulated bolts.  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA68.30-P-1010-01B 
33 Remove rear wall paneling (31) IMPORTANT Rear wall paneling (31) is fastened with double-sided adhesive tape. Carefully detach glue bead.
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Replace double-sided adhesive tape.		  
34 Disconnect electrical connectors for right rear warning device backup assist (32) and left speaker (33) and right speaker (34).    
35 Remove fastening strips (35) from headliner (13)    
36 Remove bolts from B-pillar headliner (36) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Use new micro-encapsulated bolts.  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA68.30-P-1011-01B 
37 Remove bolts from C-pillar roof paneling (37) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Use new micro-encapsulated bolts.  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA68.30-P-1010-01B 
38 Carefully loosen headliner (13) from roof Headliner (13) is fastened to roof with Velcro strip
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Align headliner (13) on mounting bolts and fasten, then position Velcro-fastening		  
39 Remove headliner (13) IMPORTANT For this purpose position headliner (13) at an angle and remove through rear-end door opening  
40 Install in the reverse order    
41 Deactivate service mode in Tele-Aid emergency call system Only on model 463.248 up to 1.4.07 with code (ET2) TELE AID car emergency call system AR82.95-P-0005-03GR
IMPORTANT Notes regarding the Tele-Aid emergency call system AH82.95-P-0001-01GA
42 Read out fault memory and erase IMPORTANT STAR DIAGNOSIS
Stored faults which can result from cables being disconnected or from simulation during installation or test work, have to be processed and erased in the fault memories after completing the work.		  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory AD00.00-P-2000-04A
43 Perform basic programming   AR00.19-P-0200P
44 Carry out function check
