1 Open engine hood    
2 Disconnect battery ground line Model 205

3.1 Remove front engine compartment paneling and center engine compartment paneling Model 205

3.2 Detach front engine compartment paneling in area of front bumper (1) Model 253

4 Remove screws (2) Model 205  
5 Remove outside temperature sensor (17) Model 205  
6 Remove expansion rivet (3) from left front to liner (4) and right front to liner (5)    
7 Press front to liner (4) and right front to liner (5) to side and unscrew bolts (6) SPECIAL TOOL Mounting wedge Fig 8
INSPECT Check     
8 Check freely visible points on front bumper pedestrian protection sensor (8) for damage such as cracks, holes or kinked points, etc. when installed Model 205

NOTES Notes on pedestrian protection sensor AH91.60-P-0001-01A
If damages are visible:

Check front bumper pedestrian protection sensor (8).
AR91.60-P-0950LW
9 Detach protective strips in area of front bumper (1) on right and left NOTES Carefully detach protective strips.
Otherwise they may be damaged.
 
10 Disengage front bumper (1) from left front to (11) and right front to (12)    
11 Disconnect electrical connector (7) Model 205

12 Disconnect electrical connector (9) Model 205
with code 501 (360° camera)

13 Disconnect electrical connector (10) Model 205
with code 5U3 (AIRPANEL)

14 Unscrew bolt on left headlamp and right headlamp Model 253  
Bumper to headlamp, bottom *BE60.00-P-1004-01FA 
Bumper to headlamp, side *BE60.00-P-1005-01FA 
15 Remove bolts (13) IMPORTANT Model 253
Three retaining clips are installed instead of the three bolts (13) in the center.
 
16 Release front bumper (1) from arrests (14) and remove Model 205
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Observe following adjustment dimensions for front bumper (1):

Ensure that the air deflector (15) is located below the radar sensor (16).
Otherwise the driver assistance system can fail.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Tighten bolts (6) before adjusting gap dimensions.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Check gap dimensions on front bumper (1).

If there are problems: ↓
Adjust front bumper (1).

18 Check impact absorber

If damage is present:

Replace impact absorber.
19 Install in the reverse order    
20 Calibrate 360° camera with diagnostic system Model 205
