Replace longitudinal member front section - AR62.20-P-1260SX

REMOVING Removing     
DANGER Risk of death  caused by high voltage used for electric welding. Risk of explosion  caused by welding in the area of highly inflammable materials. Risk of injury  caused by welding spatter and UV light while welding. Risk of poisoning  caused by inhaling welding fumes. Use insulating mats. Wear protective clothing, safety glasses and protective mask. Remove highly inflammable materials from the hazard area. Use air extractor system. AS00.00-Z-0007-01A
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

1 Remove front end assembly with reinforcement   AR62.30-P-1570SX 
2 Remove all detachable body components in area to be repaired    
3 Cover all detachable parts remaining in vehicle COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS Tarp (fire-resistant)  
4 Equip straightening bench with module members, cross members and straightening bracket set. IMPORTANT Observe body plans provided.

5 Lift vehicle with two-column lifting platform. Two-post lifting platform  
6 Set vehicle onto straightening bench    
7 Fasten vehicle to straightening bench    
8 Remove side reinforcement   AR62.30-P-1401SX 
9 Remove longitudinal member front section (1)   AR62.20-P-1260-01SX 
Round wire brush, braided, dia. 70 mm
Abrasive disk, dia. 115 mm, 80 m/s (max. 13, 250 rpm)
Cutting disk, dia. 65 mm, 80 m/s (max. 23, 500 rpm)
Drill (electric/pneumatic)
Straight grinder (electric/pneumatic)
Angle grinder (electric/pneumatic)
Body saw (electric/pneumatic)
Wet/dry vacuum cleaner
10 Prepare longitudinal member front section (1)   AR62.20-P-1260-05SX 
Round wire brush, braided, dia. 70 mm Drill (electric/pneumatic)
INSTALLING Install     
11 Install longitudinal member front section (1)   AR62.20-P-1260-07SX 
Clamping pliers
Round wire brush, braided, dia. 70 mm
Abrasive disk, dia. 115 mm, 80 m/s (max. 13, 250 rpm)
Inert gas welder
Drill (electric/pneumatic)
Angle grinder (electric/pneumatic)
Wet/dry vacuum cleaner
12 Install side reinforcement   AR62.30-P-1401SX 
13 Unfasten vehicle from straightening bench    
14 Lift vehicle with two-column lifting platform. Two-post lifting platform  
15 Remove straightening bench.    
16 Clean weld joints and sheet metal flange with round wire brush Round wire brush, braided, dia. 70 mm
Drill (electric/pneumatic)
 
17 Clean repair areas    
18 Prime area to be repaired using primer filler    
19 Carry out seam sealing after repairs IMPORTANT Supplement standard sealants with MB body sealant. AR97.10-P-4000SX

Seam sealant, sprayable 310 ml *BR00.45-Z-1041-01A 
20 Paint repair areas and adjacent surfaces    
21 Apply additional cavity preservation Model 216 AR97.20-P-1500SC

22 Remove tarp IMPORTANT On all covered parts remaining in vehicle.  
23 Install front end assembly with front reinforcement   AR62.30-P-1570SX 
24 Install all removed detachable body components
