Remove/Install Front End Paneling - Ar62.10-D-5750M

MODEL 906 with CODE XM0 (Facelift)

REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove additional turn signal lamp Vehicle with CODE L44 (Side front turn signal lamps)  
2 Detach front bumper on right and left side of vehicle and secure at front module with cable tie   AR88.20-D-2000M
IMPORTANT Remove front bumper on right and left fender liner and remove from crossmember. Helper required.  
3 Remove sealing seam (A) between front-end paneling (1) and door frame paneling (7)    
4 Remove sealing seam (B) between front-end paneling (1) and wheel arch    
5 Remove screws/bolts (4)    
6 Unscrew nut (8)    
7 Unclip protective strip (3) from front-end paneling (1) and remove SPECIAL TOOL Long wedge Fig 1
8 Unscrew screw/bolt (9)    
9 Remove bolt (11)    
10 Unclip protective strip (1) from cover (2) and remove SPECIAL TOOL Long wedge Fig 1
11 Remove screw/bolts (6)    
12 Remove bolts (10)    
13 Remove front-end paneling (1) NOTES Mask adjacent components on area of front-end paneling (1).
Otherwise the paint can be damaged.
 
  Risk of explosion  caused by paint vapors igniting. Risk of poisoning  caused by inhaling paint vapors. No smoking! No open fire! Use respiratory protection, protective clothing, gloves, safety glasses and skin cream. Ensure that the area is well ventilated. AS98.00-Z-0002-01A
14 Remove sealant residues from wheel arch, if necessary prime repair area with primer/filler IMPORTANT Use only primer filler approved by Daimler AG.

15 Remove sealant residues from front-end paneling (1) When reusing front-end paneling (1).  
16 Prepare front end paneling (1) for installing additional turn signal lamp Vehicle with CODE L44 (Side front turn signal lamps)
When replacing front-end paneling (1).

MODEL 906.6/7 AR62.10-D-5750-03B 
17 Remove mud guard (12) If installed and when replacing front-end paneling (1).  
18 Remove bumper bracket (5) When replacing front-end paneling (1).  
INSTALLING Install     
19 Install mud guard (12) If installed and when replacing front-end paneling (1).  
20 Install bumper bracket (5) When replacing front-end paneling (1).  
21 Install front-end paneling (1)    
22 Tighten screw/bolts (10) IMPORTANT Ensure that the gap between the front-end paneling (1) and the engine hood is uniform.  
23 Tighten bolts (6)    
24 Tighten bolts (9, 11)    
25 Tighten screw/bolts (4)    
26 Tighten nut (8)    
27 Install protective clip (3) on front-end paneling (1)    
28 Remove cover (2)    
29 Install sealing seam (A) between front end paneling (1) and door frame paneling (7) and repair sealing seam (A) with touch-up paint pen after flashing off IMPORTANT Mask off area around seam with masking tape before sealing.  
White sealing compound, 310 ml, DBL 6069.20 *BR00.45-Z-1003-01A 
30 Install sealing seam (B) between front end paneling (1) and wheel arch and repair sealing seam (B) with touch-up paint pen after flashing off IMPORTANT Mask off area around seam with masking tape before sealing.  
White sealing compound, 310 ml, DBL 6069.20 *BR00.45-Z-1003-01A 
31 Repair paint damage on visible bolt heads with touch-up stick    
32 Install front bumper   AR88.20-D-2000M
33 Install additional turn signal lamp Vehicle with CODE L44 (Side front turn signal lamps)
