Remove/install steering wheel - AR46.10-P-0100CW

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Turn steering wheel (1) into the center position (front wheels in straight-ahead position)    
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by performing testing or repair work on airbag or emergency tensioning retractor units. Store airbag units with deployment side facing up; do not expose to temperatures greater than 100 °C. When working on these units, disconnect the power supply. AS91.00-Z-0001-01A
2 Remove airbag unit from steering wheel (1) MODEL 204.9
up to model year 2013

3 Remove bolt (1s), in the process counterhold the steering wheel (1) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace bolt (1s).  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, steering wheel to steering shaft *BA46.10-P-1001-02J 
4 Take steering wheel (1) out until electrical connection (2) is accessible and disconnect electrical connection (2) MODEL 204, 207
with CODE 442 (Luxury multifunction steering wheel)
 
5 Remove steering wheel (1) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Align recesses of the splines (arrow) in the steering wheel (1) with the markings on the steering shaft.  
6 Install in the reverse order    
7 Conduct a road test IMPORTANTINSPECT Checking during the test drive: Turn signal cancellation: The turn signal mechanism may fail to return to its deactivated position if the steering wheel's center offset exceeds more than one spline.
Indicator lamp for supplemental restraint system (A1e15): For a full-lock position in either direction, the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) indicator lamp must not light up. Position of the steering wheel: If the steering wheel (1) is at a slant, adjust it by max. one tooth.
