Remove/install airbag unit on steering wheel - AR91.60-P-0660EL

DANGER Risk of injury  during testing and repair operations related to pyrotechnical components Do not expose pyrotechnical components to temperatures above 100 °C or 212.
Disconnect current supply when working on such components.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Place steering column in the central height position    
2 Disconnect ground line at the on-board electrical system battery MODEL 172 AR54.10-P-0003W

3 Insert Torx screwdriver into openings on steering wheel (2) and press retaining springs (7) inward IMPORTANT Use Torx screwdriver T20.
IMPORTANT When removing the driver airbag (1) for the first time, the openings on the steering wheel (2) must be pierced.
The condition of the openings can be determined by carefully exploring with the Torx screwdriver.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT The retaining springs (7) must latch audibly into the driver airbag (1).
 
4 Remove driver airbag (1) far enough from steering wheel (2) until the connector (3) is accessible    
5 Disconnect plug (3) at steering column tube module    
6 Remove driver airbag (1) from steering wheel (2) IMPORTANT If the driver airbag (1) is replaced, then the defective driver airbag (1) must be disposed of properly.  
7 Install in the reverse order    
8 Connect Star Diagnosis and check Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) When replacing the driver airbag (1).
