	Checking
	Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
1	Lift/jack up vehicle		AR00.60-P-1000GZ
2	Check bellows (1).	Never check the bellows by pressing in or around the raised beads as this will damage the bellows and eventually cause leaks. Perfect sealing of the bellows is absolutely vital for correct functioning of the rack-and-pinion steering, so perform the visual inspection as follows: Raise vehicle at front axle. Stretch bellows (1) by turning the steering onto left or right lock and in the process check for damage (cracks, chafing marks and intrusions), replace if necessary.
	Remove/install
3	Remove track rod (2)		AR46.40-P-0200GZ
4	Unscrew locknut (3)
5	Detach outer clamp (4)
6	Detach inner clamp (5)		AR46.40-P-0400-01GH
7	Pull off bellows (1)
8	Replace O-ring (6)
9	Check steering rack and inner tie rod thrust joint for corrosion and play	If the steering rack is already corroded and the steering is leaking as a result, the rack-and-pinion steering must be replaced complete: ↓
		Remove/install rack-and-pinion steering If the ball joint is worn, replace the inside track rod: ↓	AR46.20-P-0600GZ
		Remove/install inner tie rod with axial joint	AR46.40-P-0201GZ
10	Install in the reverse order
