Function requirements general
- Circuit 15R ON
- Function in instrument cluster (A1) configurated
The electronic ignition switch control unit (N73) transmits the circuit status c. 15 via the interior CAN (CAN B).
Folding left/right outside mirror function sequence, general
The outside mirror housings can be folded in and out electrically in pairs. This can be done both automatically as well as manually.
The left/right folding outside mirror function comprises the following partial functions:
- Manual folding in/out, function sequence
- Automatic folding in/out, function sequence
- Function sequence for automatic fold-out via speed signal
If circuit 15R is switched off during an active housing adjustment, the housing adjustment is nevertheless completed.
If a new housing adjustment request is recognized during an active housing adjustment, the housing adjustment is directly switched to the opposite direction.
The left front door control unit (N69/1) has the master function during adjustment and relays the necessary signals to the right front door control unit (N69/2) via the interior CAN.
The actuation duration of the outside mirror actuation depends on the outside temperature. At temperatures of T & gt; 5 °C actuation is accomplished with
t = 5 s, at 5 °C ≥ T & GT; - 8 °C with t = 6 s and at T ≤- 8 °C with = 8 s.
Manual folding in/out, function sequence
The manual fold-in/out function comprises the following subfunctions:
- Manual folding in function sequence
- Manual folding out function sequence
Additional function requirements for manually folding in
- Last actuation was folding out
- Vehicle speed v < 47 km/h
Manual folding in function sequence
By actuating the outside mirror fold-in/out switch (S20s9) both housing outside mirrors can be folded to the garage position. The corresponding adjustment request from the outside fold-in/out mirror switch is read by the left front door control unit via the left door LIN (LIN B5).
The left front door control unit actuates the outside mirror fold-/out electric motor (M21/1m3) in the left outside mirror (M21/1). The left front door control unit actuates the outside mirror fold-/out electric motor (M21/2m3) in the right outside mirror (M21/2).
Additional function requirements for manual folding out
- Last actuation was folding in
Manual folding out function sequence
The mirror housing can be moved to the driving position by actuating the outside mirror fold-in/fold-out switch.
The corresponding adjustment request from the outside fold-in/out mirror switch is read by the left front door control unit via the left door LIN.
The left front door control unit actuates the outside mirror fold-/out electric motor in the left outside mirror. The right front door control unit actuates the outside mirror fold-/out electric motor in the right outside mirror.
Automatic folding in/out, function sequence
The automatic fold-in/out function comprises the following subfunctions:
- Automatic folding in
- Automatic folding out
Additional function requirements for automatic folding in
- Terminal 15R OFF
- Function activated in instrument cluster
Automatic folding in function sequence
When the vehicle is locked with the central locking (CL) from outside with the transmitter key (A8/1), both mirror housings are folded in automatically (garage position).
If the mirror housings were manually adjusted to the garage position, the mirror housings are not adjusted via the automatic adjustment
Additional function requirements for automatic folding out
- Circuit 15R ON
- Driver and passenger door open for t & gt; 600 ms.
Automatic folding out function sequence
Both mirror housings are folded out automatically to the previous position (driving position) when the vehicle is unlocked with central locking (CL) from the outside with the transmitter key.
If the mirror housings are still folded in with circuit 15R ON by a previous automatic folding-in procedure, the mirror housings are folded out immediately.
Additional function requirements for automatic fold-out via speed signal.
- Circuit 15 ON
- Vehicle speed v & gt; 47 km/h
The instrument cluster sends the vehicle speed via interior CAN.
Function sequence for automatic fold-out via speed signal
If, after manual fold-in, the mirrors are not folded out, an automatic request "Fold out mirror housing via speed signal" is transmitted to the mirror housing starting at a speed of v & gt; 47 km/h.
After exceeding a speed of v & gt; 47 km/h is no longer possible to fold in the outside mirrors.
After circuit 30 is reset, the mirror is actuated in the fold-out direction after the first adjustment request.
