Remove/install steering column module - AR54.25-P-2802CW

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
    IMPORTANT The steering column tube module (1) contains the fanfare horns and airbag clock spring contact (A45), steering angle sensor (N49), steering column module control unit (N80) and switch unit. It is a single component and can only be removed or replaced as such.  
1 Remove steering wheel   AR46.10-P-0100CW
2 Pry off cover for jacket tube (5) from steering column tube module (1) IMPORTANT Pry off frame of cover for steering column tube (5) at the catches (arrows) using a plastic wedge.  
3 Pull steering column tube module (1) off steering column tube (4) NOTES Do not actuate the red safety catches in the steering column tube module (1), otherwise the clock spring contact (A45) may be destroyed.
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Press steering column tube module (1) onto steering column tube (4) until the assembly indicator (3) is retracted.
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Break off transport fastening (2) after installation of a new steering column tube module (1).
 
4 Unclip cable duct with electrical line from leather bag Model 204.9, 207  
5 Separate electrical connection at steering column tube module (1)   AR54.25-P-2802-02CW 
6 Install in the reverse order    
7 Perform initialization of DTR control unit with STAR DIAGNOSIS After replacing the steering column tube module (1) on vehicles with code (233) DISTRONIC PLUS  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory   AD00.00-P-2000-04A
8 Read out fault memory using STAR DIAGNOSIS and erase if necessary
