Remove/install engine hood - AR88.40-P-3000T

MODIFICATION NOTES

28.1.04 Disconnect/connect/remove ground lead from battery
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/Install     
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by fingers being jammed or pinched  when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/rear-end door or sliding roof. When moving components, ensure that no body parts or limbs are within the operating range of moving parts. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
1 Open engine hood (1) and raise to vertical position   AR88.40-P-1000T 
2 Remove expanding clip (2) and unclip cover (3) from engine hood (1) IMPORTANT For this purpose fold back insulating mat (4) in area of cover (3) and fasten with adhesive tape.  
3 Detach water hose for windshield washer system (5) to the washer nozzles    
4 Separate electrical connectors (6)    
5 Detach water hose for windshield washer system (5) and wiring harness (7) from air register (8)    
6 Remove both gas-operated struts on the engine hood (1) IMPORTANT Refer to: ↓  
Remove/install gas pressure strut on engine hood AR88.40-P-3010T 
7 Unscrew bolt (9) on left and right engine hood hinge IMPORTANT Use an assist to secure the engine hood (1).
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Tighten bolt (9) only until engine hood (1) can be fastened. Tighten bolts (9) after adjusting engine hood (1)
 
8 Install in the reverse order    
9 Adjust engine hood (1)   AR88.40-P-3020T
