Remove/install gas-operated strut on engine hood - AR88.40-P-3010T

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/Install     
1 Open engine hood and raise to vertical position   AR88.40-P-1000T 
DANGER Injury hazard  Gas pressure struts are under high pressure and can pinch and crush body parts during work Only remove and install gas-operated struts in the unstressed position and when the components are secured properly. AS00.00-Z-0012-01A
2 Lift retainers (2) at top and bottom with a screwdriver (3) and unclip the gas-operated strut (1) from the mounts. NOTES Do not remove retainers (2), otherwise the preload will be lost.
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Clip gas-operated strut (1) with installed retainers (2) on the mounts.
3 Install in the reverse order
