REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove right paneling next to rear seat   AR68.30-P-1451CW
2 Remove cover below right dashboard   AR68.10-P-1520CW
3 Remove cover below left of instrument panel    
4 Remove front left and right floor covering    
5 Remove radio (A2), radio with auto pilot system (A2/56) or COMAND controller unit (A40/3)   AR82.60-P-7502CW
6 Set selector lever in position "N" or gearshift lever to neutral position    
7 Open cover of stowage box/tray (6) or ashtray IMPORTANT On vehicles with code (301) Ashtray package/smoker package, an ashtray is installed instead of the stowage box/tray (6).  
8 Unclip cover (7) upward in front area and remove IMPORTANTInstallation:  Check mechanism for stowage box/tray (6) and ashtray for proper function, if necessary loosen threaded connection from center console (5) and tighten center console (5) without tension.  
9 Remove stowage box (6) or ashtray.    
10 Remove center console (5) On vehicles with code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning AR68.20-P-2000CW
11 Remove front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) and place to one side with electrical connectors attached   AR54.21-P-1260CW
12 Remove guide rail for load compartment cover Model 204.2 AR68.30-P-1100CX
13 Remove dummy roof antenna (1) or multifunction antenna (A28/11) IMPORTANT The dummy roof antenna (1) or multifunction antenna (A28/11) is no longer required.

INSTALLING Install     
14 Install new multifunction antenna (A28/11) for comfort telephony Model 204.0 AR82.70-P-8951CW

16 Install right paneling next to rear seat   AR68.30-P-1451CW
17 Install guide rail for load compartment cover Model 204.2 AR68.30-P-1100CX
18 Retrofit power supply wiring harness (2)   AN82.70-P-0008-01CW 
19 Retrofit phone bracket   AN82.70-P-0001-02CW 
20 Install remaining parts IMPORTANT Operation steps 11 to 2.  
21 Enter special equipment in online vehicle data card via vehicle documentation system (VeDoc) IMPORTANTAdd: 
  • Enter code (386) Comfort telephony.
 
22 Document retrofitted equipment through VeDoc IMPORTANT Attach the note "Comfort telephony retrofitted as per AN82.70-P-0008CW " under field organization texts to design group 82.  
23 Connect Star Diagnosis and select vehicle via the vehicle identification number (VIN)    
24 Run variant coding with XENTRY using software calibration number (SCN) IMPORTANT Variant coding with XENTRY using the software calibration number (SCN) must be carried out for the following control units.
  • Instrument cluster
  • "Radio" (with code (523) MB Audio 20 radio or code (510) Audio 20 with CD changer)
  • "Radio" with auto pilot system (with code (525) MB Audio 50 APS radio or code (511) Audio 50 APS with DVD changer)
  • "COMAND controller unit" (with code (527) COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation) or code (512) COMAND APS with DVD changer)
 
25 Disconnect Star Diagnosis    
26 Perform function test of comfort telephony
