Retrofit comfort telephony wiring harness - AN82.70-P-0008-01CW

IMPORTANT The following installation is shown on a vehicle with code (510) Audio 20 with CD changer as an example.

Operation steps 1 up to 3 only for vehicles with code (580) Automatic air conditioning 

  1. Wrap felt tape around power supply wiring harness (1) starting at the foam sheath (7) for a length of approx.

  2. Route power supply wiring harness (1) using a pull-through device through the cable duct in the center console (8).

    IMPORTANT Route power supply wiring harness (1) parallel to previously installed antenna line (2).

  3. Route power supply wiring harness (1), as shown, at left next to the selector lever module and into the radio or the navigation system slot.

  4. Route purple line (3) to the radio's black 44-pin coupling (4).
  5. Fasten red/yellow line (5) and brown line (6) using cable ties to vehicle wiring harness (9).
  6. Release locking clip (10) on black 44-pin coupling (4) and insert purple line (3) into slot "13" of coupling "A" on black 44-pin coupling (4).
  7. Fasten locking clip (10) on black 44-pin coupling (4).
  8. Route red/yellow line (5) and brown line (6) of power supply wiring harness, as shown, along broken line into left footwell.

    IMPORTANT Route red/yellow line (5) and brown line (6) behind hose (13).

  9. Fasten red/yellow line (5) and brown line (6) in place using felt tape (11).
  10. Fasten red/yellow line (5) and brown line (6) in place on cable of foot-operated parking brake (14) using cable ties (12).
  11. Install brown line (6) of power supply wiring harness at ground point (left front footwell) (W15/5).
  12. Form loops with excess length of brown line (6) next to ground point (left front footwell) (W15/5) and fix in place using cable tie (16).
  13. Route red/yellow line (5) along vehicle wiring harness (15) upward to front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module and fix in place using cable ties (17).

  14. Remove foam material (18) downwards.
  15. Route red/yellow line (5) through opening behind foam material (18) in engine compartment to front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module.
  16. Fasten red/yellow line (5) in place using cable ties onto vehicle wiring harness (15).

  17. Disconnect yellow "21" coupling (19) from front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
  18. Insert red/yellow line (5) into slot "5" of yellow coupling "21" (19) (arrow D).
  19. Connect yellow "21" coupling (19) to front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
