Remove/install left front SAM control unit with fuse and relay box - AR54.21-P-1260CW

MODEL 172.4, 204, 207, 212, 218

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
NOTES Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   AH54.00-P-0001-01A
1 Connect Star Diagnosis and perform initial startup of front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) When replacing the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1). AD00.00-P-2000-04A
2 Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key or KEYLESS-GO start/stop button from electronic ignition lock control unit IMPORTANT KEYLESS-GO start/stop button only on vehicles with code (889) Keyless-Go.  
3.1 Unclip washer fluid hose (2) and remove cover (1) Model 204, 207, 212, 218  
3.2 Remove cap (1) Model 172.4  
4 Disconnect electrical connector (4) and guide electrical line out of fuse box    
5 Remove bolts (arrows A) and guide out front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) until electrical connectors are accessible NOTESInstallation:  Ensure that no electrical lines are pinched otherwise there is the danger that the electrical system will be damaged.
IMPORTANT Remove the bolts (arrows A) using a 50 mm long Torx bit T20.
The bolts (arrows A) remain in the housing of the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
On model 204.9, 212, 218 press the water collector back into the area above the cover (1) until the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) can be removed.
 
6 Disconnect all the electrical connectors from the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1), then remove the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) NOTES The terminal 30 conducting electrical connectors (5, 6, 7) must be disconnected first and contacted last in order to avoid short circuits.
IMPORTANT The number of electrical connectors depends on the vehicle equipment. Unlock the electrical connectors (5, 6) by pushing back the tabs using an SPECIAL TOOL extraction hook (arrows B, C) and disconnect.
SPECIAL TOOL Pulling hook
IMPORTANTInstallation:  The contact blade (8) must make contact fully forwards in the connector housing of the electrical connectors (5, 6).

7 Compare fuse and relay assignments of the new front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) with those of the old front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) and match the assignments if necessary When replacing the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).  
8 Install electrical wiring harness for actuation of starter relay between connector 6I, pin 4 and connector 2I, pin 12 on the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) For model 204 with code (807) Model year 2007 or with code (808) Model year 2008 or with code (809) Model year 2009
When replacing the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
 
9 Install in the reverse order
