	Disassemble/assemble
1	Remove Mercedes star (2)		AR88.40-P-4050V
2	Unscrew bolts (3) and remove license plate cover (4) from bumper paneling (1)
3	Remove spreading clips (29) and remove left and right retaining strips (5) from bumper paneling (1)
4.1	Unclip sensors (A42b1, A42b2, A42b3, A42b4, A42b5, A42b6) from bumper paneling (1)	On vehicles with code (220a) Parktronic system (PTS)

5.1	Remove spreading clips (6) and remove wiring harness (7) from bumper together with sensors (A42b1, A42b2, A42b3, A42b4, A42b5, A42b6)	On vehicles with code (220a) Parktronic system (PTS) Installation:  Route wiring harness (7) into corresponding recesses in impact dampers (9, 11, 14).
6	Press lug (8) and remove left impact damper (9)
7	Press lug (10) and remove right impact damper (11)
8	Unhook left and right frame (18) from radiator paneling (12) (arrow) and unclip from catch hooks (13)
9	Lift lugs (8, 10) and remove center impact damper (14) together with license plate mounting plates (15)	Installation:  Ensure that both license plate mounting plates (15) are seated properly between center impact damper (14) and bumper paneling (1).
10	Unclip air inlet grate (16) on catch hooks (17) from bumper paneling (1) and remove		Figure
11	Remove spreading clips (30) from left and right frame (18)
12	Unclip left and right frame (18) at catch hooks (19) from bumper paneling (1) and remove	Installation:  Ensure that catch hooks (19) are seated properly in bumper paneling (1).	Figure
13	Unscrew bolts (20) and remove left fog lamp (E5/1) from left frame (18)
14	Unscrew bolts (21) and remove right fog lamp (E5/2) from right frame (18)
15	Unclip retaining clips (22) from left and right fog lamp cover (23)
16	Unclip left and right fog lamp cover (23) at catch hooks (24) and remove from bumper paneling (1)		Figure
17.1	Remove radiator paneling (12)	Only if required because radiator paneling (12) is destroyed when removed	AR88.40-P-4001V
18	Remove towing device cover (25) from bumper paneling (1)
19.1	Remove spreading clips (26) and remove left and right telescoping nozzle cover (27) from bumper paneling (1)	On vehicles with code (600a) headlamp cleaning system Installation:  Ensure that catch lugs (28) are seated properly in bumper paneling (1).
20	Assemble in reverse order
