Automatic wiper control function - GF82.30-P-3009SK
MODEL 171.4 with CODE (345a) Rain sensor
Function prerequisite
- Circuit 15R ON
Function
The automatic wiper control (rain sensor operation) function is switched on by turning the combination switch (S4) to position "I". The wiper motor (M6/1) is actuated depending on:
- Ambient light conditions
- Degree of windshield wetting
- The vehicle speed
- Outside temperature
The rain/light sensor (B38/2) and the overhead control panel control unit (N70) evaluate the signals. The wiper motor (M6/1) is actuated via the Controller Area Network Bus Class B (interior) (CAN-B) (CAN) by the driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
Possible wiper levels:
- Intermittent wiper with variable intervals.
- Continuous wiping at the required wiping speed.
Emergency running
If the communication between the rain/light sensor (B38/2) and the overhead control panel control unit (N70) fails, intermittent operation is activated at fixed intervals (approx. 5 sec.).
If automatic speed reduction is active the interval is approx. 7.5 sec.
