Function requirements
- C. 61 ON and
- Engine speed > 300 RPM for 2 s
- Combination switch (S4) in center position (low beam switch position)
Function
The rotary light switch (S1) is set to the low beam
position and notifies the driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) "Daytime running lights on".
The driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) actuates the left low beam (E1e2) in the left front lamp unit (E1) and transmits the CAN message via CAN class B to the passenger-side SAM control unit (N10/11).
The passenger-side SAM control unit (N10/11) actuates the right low beam (E2e2) in the right front lamp unit (E2).
The left standing and parking lamp (E1e3) and right standing and parking lamp (E2e3) in the left front (E1) and right front lamp unit (E2) continues to be actuated with the driving lights switched on. Actuation of the instrument cluster (A1) with the "driving lights On" signal triggers a chime if the transmitter key (A8/1) has been removed and the driver door is open.
