High beam control, function - GF82.10-P-3004T

Function requirements 

Function 

The combination switch (S4) is set to the high beam position (2). The steering column module (N80) acquires the applied position of the combination switch (S4) and transmits "high beam On" via CAN class B to the following control units:

The driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) actuates the left high beam lamp (E1e1) in the left front lamp unit (E1).

The passenger-side SAM control unit (N10/11) actuates the right high beam (E2e1) in the right front lamp unit (E2). The instrument cluster (A1) actuates the blue high beam indicator lamp (A1e3) and thus visually indicates that the high beam is switched on.

Actuating headlamp flasher function 

When the headlamp flasher is pressed the functional sequence and signal flow is the same as for the high beam actuation. The difference between the headlamp flasher and high beam lies in the switch position of the combination switch (S4). This must be moved in the directly opposite direction to the headlamp flasher switch position (1) and held there. The headlamp flasher and thus the high beam remain active as long as the combination switch (S4) is held in the headlamp flasher switch position (1).

IMPORTANT Headlamp flasher functionality is independent of the rotary light switch (S1) position.
