Replace centering sleeve - AR41.10-P-0200T

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
NOTES Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts   AH00.00-N-0001-01A
1 Raise vehicle with vehicle lift   AR00.60-P-1000T
2 Remove propeller shaft NOTES Mark color identifications of the propeller shaft position relative to the transmission, to the rear axle center assembly and to the propeller shaft intermediate bearing in order to reproduce the plant installation position when installing otherwise drive train vibrations can occur. AR41.10-P-0050T 
3 Identify the flexible coupling (12) relative to the three-arm or four-arm flange of the propeller shaft (arrows) and detach TORQUE SPECIFICATION Self-locking nut, flexible coupling to transmission or front propeller shaft *BA41.10-P-1001-01A 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Self-locking nut, flexible coupling to rear propeller shaft or rear axle differential. *BA41.10-P-1002-01A 
SPECIAL TOOL Torque wrench *001589662100
4 12 Loosen fitted sleeves on flexible couplings.   AR41.10-P-0050-09DA 
REFER TO SHOP-MADE TOOLS Drift for loosening fitting sleeves in flex disks. WF58.50-P-4110-01A
5 Separate front half of propeller shaft (1) and rear half of propeller shaft from propeller shaft intermediate bearing IMPORTANTInstallation:  See:
 
Connect sections of propeller shaft
IMPORTANT Grease splined profile before assembling.

REFER TO CAPACITIES & SPECIFICATIONS Multipurpose grease (NLGI Class 2) Sheet 267.0 BB00.40-P-0267-00A
INSPECT Checking     
6 Check centering sleeves (10) in front and rear halves of propeller shaft NOTES In the event of wear or damage to the lip in the centering sleeve the centering sleeve must be replaced individually in order to prevent consequential damage due to the ingress of foreign matter, see:
 
Removal of centering sleeve
AR41.10-P-0200-02DA 
Press in guide sleeve AR41.10-P-0200-03T 
Press-in distance *BE41.10-P-1001-02L 
7 Fill cavities of both centering sleeves (10) with grease FLUID SPECIFICATION Centering sleeve grease quantity of propeller shaft *BF41.10-P-1001-01A 
8 Check flexible disks (12) of the propeller shaft for wear NOTES If damage is found during the visual inspection, the flexible couplings should be replaced subject to separate repair order in order to prevent consequential damage to the drive train.  
REFER TO MAINTENANCE Check flexible couplings for damage and deformation AP41.10-P-4152Z 
9 Install in the reverse order
