		When working on the front-end assembly, be careful not to scratch, mark or notch the surfaces of aluminum parts. Otherwise the service life of the of the parts will be reduced.
1.1	Remove both lower engine compartment paneling	Model 204.9	AR61.20-P-1105CY
1.2	Remove engine compartment paneling	Model 172 with gasoline engine	AR61.20-P-1105W
		Model 204.0/2/3, 207 with gasoline engine	AR61.20-P-1105EW
1.3	Remove bottom sections of soundproofing	Model 172 with diesel engine	AR94.30-P-5300W

2	Unscrew nut (1)	When loosening the nut (1) the bolt (2) must not be twisted. It is essential to counterhold bolt (2). Otherwise the locating lugs for the caster adjustment in the rubber mount (4a) will be sheared off when the repair kit is fitted. Installation: Screw nut (1) of bolt (2) all the way on until it abuts, but do not tighten yet so that the rubber mount (4a) can twist when the vehicle is rocked to settle the suspension. Only tighten nut (1) in the ready-to-drive condition. Model 172

3	Pull bolt (2) out of front axle carrier (3) and fold cross strut (4) downwards
4	Unscrew nut (5)	Installation: There must be no grease on the thread of the upper ball joint. Model 172

		Self-locking nut, transverse link to steering knuckle assembly	*BA33.20-P-1006-01N
5	Press off cross strut (4) from upper ball joint of steering knuckle (6) and remove	Installation: There must be no grease on the cones of the upper ball joint and the steering knuckle (6). The grease in the radial groove on the upper ball joint must not be removed.

6	Check rubber mount (4a), rubber boot and upper ball joint in cross strut (4) for damage	Replace cross strut (4) if necessary.
