Remove/install ESP brake pressure sensor - AR42.45-P-0816RT

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury  caused by brake fluid coming into contact with skin and eyes. Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid. AS42.50-Z-0001-01A

1 Switch off ignition and remove the transmitter key from the EIS [EZS] control unit IMPORTANT On vehicles with code (889) Keyless Go: Press Keyless Go start and stop button repeatedly until the ignition is switched off. Remove transmitter key from vehicle and store it in a location beyond its transmission range (at least 2 m).  
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by fingers being pinched or crushed  when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lids, liftgates or sliding roof Keep body parts and limbs well clear of moving parts. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
2 Open engine hood and raise to vertical position AR88.40-P-1000RT
3 Unclip water drain pipe (1) IMPORTANT On left hand drive vehicle only.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Pay attention to correct seat of water drain pipe (1).
 
4 Remove wiper system IMPORTANT Only on right-hand drive vehicle. AR82.30-P-6400RT
5 Suction off brake fluid from brake fluid reservoir    
6 Disconnect electrical connector (2) from ESP brake pressure sensor (B34)    
7 Unscrew and remove ESP brake pressure sensor (B34) IMPORTANT Collect brake fluid which flows out using a non-fluffing, absorbent rag.  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA42.45-P-1001-01K 
8 Install in the reverse order    
9 Bleed brake system   AR42.10-P-0010RT 
FLUID SPECIFICATION *BF42.10-P-1001-01H 
10 Check fluid level in brake fluid reservoir; correct if necessary    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE Brake system - inspect fluid level AP42.10-P-4210RT 
11 Read out fault memory    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory AD00.00-P-2000-04A
INSPECT Checking     
DANGER Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
