Bleed brake system - AR42.10-P-0010RT

  Bleeding     
DANGER Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury caused by brake fluid coming into contact with skin and eyes. Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid. AS42.50-Z-0001-01A

1 Open engine hood and raise to vertical position   AR88.40-P-1000RT
2 Unscrew cap (5) from brake fluid reservoir (6)    
3 Connect filling and bleeding device IMPORTANT Pay attention to manufacturer's operating instructions.
Bleeding pressure must be 2 bar.

DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
4 Lift/jack up vehicle AR00.60-P-1000RT
5 Adjust bleeding pressure on filling and bleeding unit to 2 bar    
6 Remove breather dust caps    
7 Connect hose of bleed bottle on bleed screw on right rear axle floating brake caliper (1)    
8 Open bleed screw on right rear axle floating brake caliper (1) and allow 80 cm3 of brake fluid to flow out free of bubbles  , then tighten to the correct torque TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bleed screw to brake caliper *BA42.10-P-1001-12L 
9 Repeat bleeding process at the other floating brake calipers IMPORTANT Sequence when bleeding: Bleed screw on right rear axle floating brake caliper, bleed screw on left rear axle floating brake caliper, bleed screw on right front axle floating brake caliper, bleed screw on left front axle floating brake caliper.  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bleed screw to brake caliper *BA42.10-P-1001-10L 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bleed screw to brake caliper *BA42.10-P-1001-12L 
10 Detach filling/bleeding device    
11 Attach bleeder dust caps and screw cap    
INSPECT Checking     
12 Check fluid level in brake fluid reservoir, and correct if necessary FLUID SPECIFICATION Brake fluid *BF42.10-P-1001-01H 
13 Check brake system for leaks   AR42.10-P-0100-01RT
14 Check fluid level in the brake system    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE Brake system - inspect fluid level AP42.10-P-4210RT
