	Remove/install
	Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

	When working on the front-end assembly, be careful not to scratch, mark or notch the surfaces of aluminum parts. Otherwise the service life of the parts will be affected

Installation	Only tighten nuts and bolts of chassis components when vehicle is in a ready-to-drive condition.
1.1	Empty and fill front suspension strut using STAR DIAGNOSIS	With Airmatic (semi-active air suspension), code 489
2	Remove air filter housing with air ducts	Pull air filter housing vertically upwards off the rubber retainers on the cylinder head covers. Installation:  Rub the rubber retainers on the cylinder head covers and the sealing ring of the hot film mass air flow sensor in the air filter housing with liquid lubricant.

4	Remove front wheel
	Remove/install wheels, rotate if necessary		AP40.10-P-4050Z
5	Detach hexagon collar bolt of front axle shaft	On right or left front axle shaft.	AR33.30-P-0620-05P
		Collar bolt, front axle shaft to front axle shaft flange	*BA33.30-P-1003-02C
6	Detach front axle brake caliper from steering knuckle	Removal  : Hang up brake caliper to one side. The brake hose does not have to be unscrewed from the brake caliper.	AR42.10-P-0070T
7	Pry supporting joint (4) off steering knuckle (5)	After prying off at the supporting joint screw the nut on again, otherwise the steering knuckle may fall down and become damaged. Only unscrew the nut when the steering knuckle is removed.	AR33.20-P-0440-01VM

9	Pry follower joint of upper transverse control arm off steering knuckle	The follower joint must be removed, otherwise the follower joint is damaged by hard pulling or excessive angles.	AR33.20-P-0500-01VM

11	Move steering knuckle (5) out of supporting joint (4)
12	Remove steering knuckle (5) and move the right front axle shaft or left front axle shaft from the front axle shaft flange	Do not damage the boots of the front axle shaft and supporting joint. To loosen the front axle shaft, if necessary screw in the hexagon collar bolt a few threads again and hammer out the front axle shaft slightly using a rubber hammer.
13	Detach lower engine compartment paneling		AR61.20-P-1105T
14	Remove torsion bar (1) on front axle		AR32.20-P-0300TW
15	Loosen front shock-absorber strut (2) on lower transverse control arm (3) and secure		AR33.20-P-0500-06VM

16	Detach lower transverse control arm (3) from front axle carrier	The bolt (7) must not  be twisted. It is essential to counterhold the bolt (7) when loosening the nut (6). Otherwise, when the repair kit is fitted, the fixing lugs for camber adjustment and caster adjustment in the rubber mount are sheared off.

17	Install in the reverse order
