MB-Info, general

The MB-Info call function enables the user to call up information about Mercedes-Benz brand products as well as other voice-based services (e.g. hotel booking). For example, it provides information on the following services:

This vehicle-related service is primarily a voice information service that is provided via the communication module that is integrated in the emergency call system control unit.

MB-Info call function sequence

The MB-Info and breakdown assistance button group is read in directly by the emergency call system control unit via a discrete line. The emergency call system control unit then automatically transmits an SMS (SMS = Short Message Service) with the following data to the service center via the integrated communication module:

The communication module integrated in the emergency call system control unit also sets up a voice connection to the service center.

The communication module that is integrated in the emergency call system control unit is connected using a discrete line via the radio and cell phone antenna splitter (A28/1) to the telephone and fax antenna (A2/22). The latter transmits and receives the cellular phone signals.

IMPORTANT The light emitting diode in the MB-Info button flashes for as long as the MB-Info call is activated.

IMPORTANT In the event of an MB-Info call, any vehicle-related service having a lower priority (in this case: vehicle remote door unlock) is interrupted.

IMPORTANT In the event of a malfunction of the radio and cell phone antenna splitter (defective e.g. because of a rollover) the emergency call system control unit automatically uses the emergency call antenna (A2/52) to transmit cellular phone signals.
