23.1.04 "Disconnect/connect battery ground line" removed    
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install    
1 Remove center console Model 209 without code P98 Black Series AR68.20-P-2000Q 
    Model 209 with code P98 Black Series AR68.20-P-2000QBS 
2 Remove center console cover (3)   AR68.20-P-2350Q 
3 Remove instrument cluster   AR54.30-P-6015P
4 Remove light switch module (S1)   AR54.25-P-3270P
5.1 Loosen COMMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3) up to 31.5.04
with code 352 COMMAND operating and display system, with code 498 Japanese version
AR82.85-P-7472Q
    as of 1.6.04
with code 498 Japanese version, with code 527 COMMAND APS (with navigation), with code 530 COMMAND APS USA (with navigation)
IMPORTANT Position COMMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3) so that bolts on driver side instrument panel section are accessible.
IMPORTANT Do not unplug connectors.

5.2 Loosen radio up to 31.5.04

IMPORTANT Position radio so that bolts on instrument panel lower section on driver side are accessible.
IMPORTANT Do not unplug connectors.

6 Remove bolts (4)    
7 Remove cover below instrument panel on left with lines connected and hood release cable hooked in    
8 Unscrew trim ring from EIS control unit (N73) SPECIAL TOOL Claw wrench Fig 3
9 Unclip instrument panel lower section (1) on driver side and remove. SPECIAL TOOL Mounting wedge Fig 2
10 Unhook release cable for foot-operated parking brake from operating lever    
11 Remove EIS control unit (N73) from instrument panel lower section on driver side (1)    
12 Install in the reverse order
