REMOVING Removing     
1 Connect no load current retention unit   *WH58.30-Z-1012-09A 
2 Disconnect battery ground cable    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR54.10-P-0003I
3 Remove rear seat cushion    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR91.12-P-1020N
4 Unscrew bolts (7) and nuts (6), remove assembly plate (5) from vehicle floor and fold down toward front. IMPORTANT Do not disconnect electrical wiring plugs.  
5 Unscrew nuts (9) and remove rear fuse and relay module (K40/5) from vehicle floor IMPORTANT Do not disconnect electrical wiring plugs.  
6 Remove upper control panel control unit.    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR54.21-P-1262N
    IMPORTANT If the cutout for TS/IMS switch (N72/1s7) is not present, send only center console cover to manufacturer: ↓  
REFER TO FORMS   Order for boring hole pattern, form sheet. OF68.00-P-3000-01A
7 Remove switch group (11) in direction of arrow and disconnect electrical connector (10). IMPORTANT Switch group is a part eliminated  
8 Remove front floor covering IMPORTANT Left.  
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR68.20-P-2050M
9 Remove finder liner in front fender IMPORTANT Left.  
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR88.10-P-1300M
10 Unscrew bolts (14) from left front engine hood catch (12).    
INSTALLING Install     
11 Clip ATA engine hood switch (S62) into left front engine hood catch (12). IMPORTANT ATA engine hood switch (S62) should arrest correctly (see arrows).  
12 Connect present electrical connector (13) to ATA engine hood switch (S62). IMPORTANT Fasten connector with cable straps (15).  
13 Screw bolts (14) into left front engine hood catch (12). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt to engine hood catch. *BA88.40-P-1004-01D 
14 Retrofit alarm siren IMPORTANT Install alarm signal horn with additional battery (H3/1) together with alarm signal horn bracket (2). AN80.50-P-0001-02M 
15 Clip new switch group (11) with TS/IMS switch (N72/1s7) onto upper control panel (N72/1) in direction of arrow and connect to electrical connector (10).    
16 Install upper control panel control module (N72/1)    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR54.21-P-1262N
17 Insert tow-away protection relay (K40/5kR) and fuse 51 (K40/5f51), fuse 77 (F4f77)    
REFER TO BASIC KNOWLEDGE Fuse assignment, as-built configuration   GF54.15-P-1256I
REFER TO BASIC KNOWLEDGE Relay assignment, as-built configuration   GF54.15-P-1257I
18 Install rear fuse and relay module (K40/5) and fasten wit nuts (9).    
19 Loosen line tieout with electrical coupling (8) from wiring harness.    
20 Install assembly plate (5) and fasten with bolts (7) and nuts (6).    
21 Push ATA inclination sensor (B33) onto assembly plate (5) in direction of arrow and connect electrical coupling (8) to ATA inclination sensor (B33). IMPORTANT Note direction of installation.  
22 Retrofitting interior protection with CODE (551a) Anti-theft alarm system (ATA). AN80.50-P-0100N 
23 Install remaining parts onto vehicle    
  Checking     
24 Control unit adaptation for ATA system with STAR diagnosis. IMPORTANT Perform following control unit adaptations:$
  • SAM VL-EDW.
  • EZS-ASS.
  
25 Check ATA system for proper function    
26 When modifying the package, subsequently enter code or designation of corresponding special equipment on vehicle data card and FDOK IMPORTANT Anti-theft alarm (ATA) code 551a.
