Volume/tone settings function - GF82.60-P-2003D

MODEL 208, 210 with CODE (352a) COMAND operating and display system except CODE (498) Japanese version

A distinction must be made between COMAND audio and service sources:

Volume setting

Changing the volume of an audio source  has an identical effect on all other audio sources  .

The volume is also jointly regulated within the service sources in the same manner. The volume of voice output for navigation can be changed during voice output  .

In this case, a distance - which can be set in the "Settings" menu - between the volume of the audio signal and voice output is automatically adhered to. This means that voice output remains easily audible even in the case of loud audio output.

Tone setting

COMAND enables various tone settings (e. g. treble/bass, balance, fader) for each audio source. The tone setting selected for the radio simultaneously applies to the traffic information radio channel message. Settings which are selected for voice output during navigation also influence the language control system. Firmly stored tone settings can additionally be called up, e.g.:

When the tonal focal point is changed (balance, fader)  , the relationship between the volume of the other loudspeakers also changes.

The signal processing required for the volume and tone settings  is undertaken by the audio components integrated in the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3)  . If the vehicle is additionally equipped with a sound system (code 810), the sound system amplifier (N40/3)  ensures terminal audio signal amplification.
