Function of windshield wiping - GF82.30-P-3004A

MODEL 202 as of 1.6.97, 208, 210.081 /281,210 (except 210.081 /281) as of 1.3.97

The windshield wiping function can be switched on with the combination switch (S4).

The position of the combination switch (S4)  is read in by the electronic ignition switch (EIS) control module (N73)  and transferred to the signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM) (N10/1)  via the CAN bus.

Wiper stage 1

If stage 1 is selected, the SAM actuates the wiper motor (M6/1)  so that it runs at low speed.

If the SAM receives a CAN message that the combination switch (S4)  is set to the wiper off position, the motor is braked  when the wiper reaches its rest position.

Wiper stage 2

If stage 2 is switched on, the SAM actuates the wiper motor so that it runs at the higher speed.

The wiper motor is switched to the lower speed stage by the automatic speed reduction  (not with built-in rain sensor code 345a) or after recognition of another switch position. If the combination switch (S4)  is switched from the wiper stage 2 position to the wiper off position, the SAM actuates the wiper motor (M6/1)  so that the wiper motor runs at low speed until the rest position is reached.
