Auto pilot system (APs) diagnosis, function check - AD82.61-P-3000B

IMPORTANT Fuses in order    
IMPORTANT Battery voltage 11-14 V    
IMPORTANT Interference with radio or satellite reception may occur due to local and atmospheric influences.
Satellite reception is only possible in the open air.

Navigation The CD-ROM inserted in the navigation processor (A2/30)  , the language must be loaded. The current location must be known to the APS system (possibly enter manually). A route calculation can take up to 30 s.
The drive recommendations for the destination are given over the radio loudspeaker and shown on the display of A2/29.
AD82.61-P-5000B 
  On the radio and navigation operating unit (A2/29)  : Press the "NAV" key. Using "ENTER ADDRESS" menu, enter suggested destination and drive off on the test route. IMPORTANT
"OFF ROAD" appears in the display if the vehicle is on a "non-digitized" road (company grounds, multi-storey car park, track across fields).
"OFF MAP" appears on journeys outside the digitized map limits (abroad).
 
Telematics dynamic route navigation with TCS (traffic center service) (with code 815 only)  The telephone SIM card must be inserted and appropriately configured. If possible, position the vehicle in open air (for interference-free telephone reception) Note display on radio and navigation operating unit (APS) (A2/29)  : The TCS symbol shows black text  on a light  background. Configure SIM card, refer to:

  Press the "NAV" key on the radio and navigation operating unit (APS) (A2/29)  .
Activate the "TRAFFIC-INFO SOURCE" in the "SETTING" menu. Select "TCS (CHARGES)" and activate "SINGLE INQUIRY".
Enter vehicle destination
Activate "DYNAM.ROUTE(TCS)"
In addition an antenna symbol appears. This signals that the telephone system is sending data to the service provider. The symbol disappears again if the service provider has replied.
As soon as all the traffic information for the navigation system is available, the TCS symbol changes to light text  on a dark background  .
The TCS symbol disappears after 30 min. if no further traffic information has been received in that time.
The traffic messages can be read by pressing the "Detour" key and activating the "TRAFFIC INFO (TCS)" menu. Information on national highways is also shown; however, for the recalculation of a route, only messages that concern national motorways and  lie on the route destination are relevant.
