Testing (As Of 06/95)

WARNING: Injury hazard from pinching and crushing, in extreme cases extremities can even be severed when caught in the mechanism. DO NOT allow any body parts to be in the general area of the moving components. DO NOT reach into the moving mechanism at any time during any tests. Keep away from the moving mechanism of components which are being activated using the Hand Held Tester (HHT) and or directly via circuit 30.

For this version the roll bar can operated with the Hand Held Tester (HHT). Using the crash actuation routine for checking roll bar proper function. For safety reasons a warning message appears asking if anyone is within the extension radius of the roll bar, followed by four random numbers. These random numbers must be repeated before the crash actuation can be tripped.

ROLL BAR DIAGNOSTIC - FUNCTION TEST

Test Step/Scope Of Test (1) Test Condition Nominal Valve Test Step/Remedy
1.0 (2) Turn The Left Rear Axle Switch (S83/2) Or The Right Rear Axle Switch (S83/3) To "ARRESTED" The Roll Bar Deploys Upon A Rapid Application Of The Brakes From Approximately. 6 MPH (10 Km/H) (3)
(1) Observe preparations for testing. See ROLL BAR - PREPARATION FOR TESTING (UP TO 8/95)  under CONNECTING ELECTRICAL TEST EQUIPMENT under ELECTRICAL DIAGNOSTIC TESTS.
(2) The vehicle must be driven during the test. See ROLL BAR SYSTEM FUNCTION TEST (SECTION 19.2/11.1)  . After Test, Turn (S83/2 or S83/3) back to "FUNCTION".
(3) Check for fault codes. See ROLL BAR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS  table.
