Roll Bar - Preparation For Testing
WARNING:
When working on the roll bar system extreme caution should be taken. Disconnecting the connector or tilting of the Roll Bar Control module (N53) upon removal, may cause the roll bar to deploy. Be certain to keep persons away from deployment radius of the roll bar. Risk of injury.
NOTE:
For special tool identification. See Figure
under SPECIAL TOOLS. In addition a Digital Volt Ohm Meter (DVOM) is required for testing. DO NOT use an analog meter or test light to check control module circuits.
- Battery voltage, 11-14 volts.
- Roll bar warning lamp (A1e29) comes on in instrument cluster.
- Review roll bar operation. See DESCRIPTION and OPERATION .
- Connect diagnostic tools Digital Volt Ohm Meter (DVOM), socket box and text cables as shown. See Fig 1 .
- When checking for fault codes with the pulse counter, see Fig 2 .
NOTE:
Ensure ignition switch is in OFF position before disconnecting vehicle harness from Roll Bar Crash Actuation Trigger Module (N53).
