Soft/Hard Top - Symptom Diagnostic Table

A symptom can also be referred to as a complaint, certain functions are not operating properly. For complaint related diagnostics, perform appropriate symptom test when directed to do so from table.

(1) Before proceeding with indicated test/step(s), it is essential that PREPARATION FOR TESTING is observed. See PREPARATION FOR TESTING  . For test equipment hook up. See CONNECTING ELECTRICAL TEST EQUIPMENT  under ELECTRICAL DIAGNOSTIC TESTS (SECTION 23). Failure to properly connect test equipment may lead to incorrect diagnosis or personal injury.
(2) Observe Warnings, Cautions and Notes before test steps are performed. Return to SYMPTOM DIAGNOSTIC table and continue to indicated test/step(s).
(3) See HARD TOP ADJUSTMENTS  under ADJUSTMENTS.
(4) Replace top actuation control module. See TOP ACTUATION CONTROL UNIT (N52)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
(5) Observe Warnings, Cautions and Notes under ROLL BAR ASSEMBLY. Check adjustments. See ADJUSTMENT  under ROLL BAR ASSEMBLY.
(6) No DTC displayed, gong sounds while driving.
(7) Only possible during the soft top up or down sequence, roll bar must have been raised previously.
(8) Raise roll bar using Roll Bar switch (S83) until a re-engagement click is heard on passenger side.
(9) See SOFT TOP ADJUSTMENTS  under ADJUSTMENTS.
(10) Readout impulse counter (DTC).
