Roll Bar Assembly: Adjustments
NOTE:
Perform adjustment work in order specified. If the roll-over bar has been removed or replaced in the course of repair work it must be readjusted. After completion of the adjustment work check the system for proper function (roll bar should actuate). See ROLL BAR CRASH DEPLOYMENT SYSTEM FUNCTION TEST (SECTION 19.2/11.1)

- Remove coupe roof. See REMOVING HARD TOP under OPERATION. Remove occasional seats. See OCCASIONAL SEATS (REAR SEATS) . Remove luggage shelf. See SHELF (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT REAR SEAT AREA) . Remove side panels. See SIDE PANELS (REAR COMPARTMENT) .
- Install fastener screws at upper roll bar bearing pivots (arrow). See Figure . (DO NOT tighten at this time).
- Install fastener screws (arrows) on support elements at bottom left and right on longitudinal member (DO NOT tighten at this time). See Fig 1 and Fig 2 .
- Put down roll bar with roll bar (convenience) switch. Ensure hydraulic lines are connected.
- Adjust roll bar in relation to top compartment cover (clearance) and center pillar (height). See Fig 3 .
- Tighten fastener screws on upper roll bar bearing pivots at upper left and right to 54.5-63.5 Ft lbs. (75 to 85 Nm).
- Push right support element up on longitudinal member (angled plane), until the contour is flush with the top compartment cover. See Fig 4 .
- Tighten fastener screws to 27.5-35.5 Ft. lbs. (37 to 47 Nm).
- Test roll bar for proper function. See ROLL BAR CRASH DEPLOYMENT SYSTEM FUNCTION TEST (SECTION 19.2/11.1) .
- Push left support element up on longitudinal member until console contacts uniformly (not under tension).
- Tighten fastener screws to 27.5-35.5 Ft. lbs. (37 to 47 Nm).
- Test roll bar for proper function. See ROLL BAR CRASH DEPLOYMENT SYSTEM FUNCTION TEST (SECTION 19.2/11.1) .
- If readjustment work is required after testing the roll bar system (adaptation to body), the entire adjustment procedure must be repeated.
