Diagnostic Procedure

AIR INTAKE MODE DOES NOT CHANGE DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step Inspection Results Action
1 VERIFY DASH-ELECTRICAL SUPPLY UNIT DTCs 
  • Perform the DTC inspection for the dash-electrical supply unit. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
  • Are any DTCs displayed?
Yes Repair or replace the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
(See DTC TABLE [DASH_ESU] .)
No Go to the next step.
2 INSPECT AIR INTAKE LINK 
  • Inspect air intake links for the following items. (Refer to BLOWER UNIT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY in service information.) (Refer to [AIR INTAKE LINK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION] in service information.)
    • Is grease on link?
    • Are links securely and properly installed?
    • Are links free of obstructions and hindrances?
  • Are the above items normal?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Apply grease to links.
If any links are damaged, repair or replace the malfunctioning part.
Perform the repair completion verification 1.
3 VERIFY AIR INTAKE ACTUATOR FOR MALFUNCTION  Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1.
(Refer to AIR INTAKE ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER] , or AIR INTAKE ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER] in service information.)
4 VERIFY AIR INTAKE DOOR FOR MALFUNCTION  Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1.
5 INSPECT WIRING HARNESS (INCLUDING CONNECTOR/TERMINAL) BETWEEN AIR INTAKE ACTUATOR AND DASH-ELECTRICAL SUPPLY UNIT FOR MALFUNCTION  Yes Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
(See MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW [CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN)] .)
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
No Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1.
Repair completion verification 1 VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS CORRECTED 
  • Does the air intake mode change smoothly?
Yes Troubleshooting completed. (Explain repair contents to customer.)
No Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
(See MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW [CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN)] .)
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
  • If the malfunction is not resolved, replace the dash-electrical supply unit. (Refer to [DASH-ELECTRICAL SUPPLY UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION] in service information.)
