Diagnostic Procedure

A/C IS ALWAYS ON OR A/C COMPRESSOR RUNS CONTINUOUSLY DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step	Inspection	Results	Action
1	VERIFY RELATED DTCs Perform the DTC inspection for the following modules. (See DTC INSPECTION .) PCM Body control module (BCM) Dash-electrical supply unit Are any DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-G)] .) (See DTC TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-G 2.5T)] .) (See DTC TABLE [BCM] .) (See DTC TABLE [DASH_ESU] .)
1		No	Go to the next step.
2	DETERMINE IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS MAGNETIC CLUTCH OR OTHER Start the engine and idle it. Turn on the air conditioner switch. Remove the A/C relay. (Refer to RELAY LOCATION in service information.) Is the magnetic clutch engaged?	Yes	Go to the next step.
2		No	Go to Step 7.
3	INSPECT IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS MAGNETIC CLUTCH OR MAGNETIC CLUTCH POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT Verify that the A/C relay is removed. Switch the ignition off. Disconnect the magnetic clutch connector. (Refer to MAGNETIC CLUTCH DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] , or MAGNETIC CLUTCH INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T] in service information.) Start the engine and idle it. Is the magnetic clutch engaged?	Yes	Go to Step 5.
3		No	Go to the next step.
4	INSPECT WIRING HARNESS (INCLUDING CONNECTOR/TERMINAL) BETWEEN A/C RELAY AND MAGNETIC CLUTCH Inspect the applicable circuit. (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (See CONNECTOR INSPECTION .) Is the circuit normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
4		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1.
5	INSPECT MAGNETIC CLUTCH CLEARANCE FOR MALFUNCTION Verify the magnetic clutch clearance. (Refer to MAGNETIC CLUTCH ADJUSTMENT [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] , or MAGNETIC CLUTCH ADJUSTMENT [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T] in service information.) Is the magnetic clutch clearance normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
5		No	Adjust the magnetic clutch clearance and perform the repair completion verification 1. (Refer to MAGNETIC CLUTCH ADJUSTMENT [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] , or MAGNETIC CLUTCH ADJUSTMENT [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T] in service information.)
6	INSPECT MAGNETIC CLUTCH FOR MALFUNCTION Inspect the applicable part. (Refer to MAGNETIC CLUTCH INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] , or MAGNETIC CLUTCH INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T] in service information.) Is the part normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
6		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1.
7	DETERMINE IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS A/C RELAY CONTROL SIGNAL OR A/C REQUEST SIGNAL Access the PCM PID [A/C_SW] using the M-MDS. (See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION .) Verify the monitor the while turning on and off the air conditioner switch on the control control unit. Is the monitor value always [TRUE]?	Yes	Climate control unit malfunction can be considered. (Climate control unit always transmits A/C request signal.) Replace the climate control unit and perform the repair completion verification 1. (Refer to CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER] , or CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER] in service information.)
7		No	Go to the next step.
8	INSPECT A/C RELAY FOR MALFUNCTION Inspect the A/C relay. (Refer to RELAY INSPECTION in service information.) Is the relay normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
8		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1. (Refer to RELAY LOCATION in service information.)
9	INSPECT WIRING HARNESS (INCLUDING CONNECTOR/TERMINAL) BETWEEN A/C RELAY AND PCM Inspect the applicable circuit. (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (See CONNECTOR INSPECTION .) Is the circuit normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
9		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1.
Repair completion verification 1	VERIFY THAT MALFUNCTION SYMPTOMS DO NOT RECUR AFTER REPAIR Does the malfunction symptom recur?	Yes	If the malfunction recurs, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
Repair completion verification 1		No	Troubleshooting completed. (Explain repair contents to customer.)
