Magnetic Clutch Adjustment [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5]

WARNING:

If the engine is started while servicing the A/C compressor, the drive belt could get caught causing injury. Never start the engine while servicing the A/C compressor.

Remove the front under cover No. 2. (See FRONT UNDER COVER No. 2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
Measure the clearance around the entire circumference between the pressure plate and A/C compressor pulley using a thickness gauge.

Verify that the magnetic clutch clearance is the standard.
Magnetic clutch clearance

Type A: 0.35-0.65 mm {0.014-0.025 in}

Type B: 0.30-0.60 mm {0.012-0.024 in}
- If the magnetic clutch clearance is not within the standard, adjust the magnetic clutch clearance by changing the type or number of the shim kit. (See MAGNETIC CLUTCH DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .)
