Idle Mixture Inspection

Verify that the idle speed and ignition timing are within the specification. (See IDLE SPEED INSPECTION .) (See Ignition Timing Inspection .)
Insert an exhaust gas analyzer into the tailpipe.
Verify that the CO and HC concentrations are within regulation.

If there is a malfunction, refer to "ENGINE SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING".
- If no malfunction is detected, replace the catalytic converter. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
