Condenser Inspection [SKYACTIV-G]

- Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION (US) .)
- Discharge the refrigerant. (See REFRIGERANT RECOVERY .) (See REFRIGERANT CHARGING (US) .)
- Remove the front under cover No. 1 and the front under cover No. 2. (See FRONT UNDER COVER No. 1 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .) (See FRONT UNDER COVER No. 2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Drain the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [SKYACTIV-G (VIN L (US))] .) (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [SKYACTIV-G (VIN M (US))] .)
- Remove the following parts:
- Plug hole plate (See PLUG HOLE PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (VIN L (US))] .) (See PLUG HOLE PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (VIN M (US))] .)
- Air cleaner, air hose and fresh air duct component (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (VIN L (US))] .) (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (VIN M (US))] .)
- Cooling fan component (See COOLING FAN MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (VIN L (US))] .) (See COOLING FAN MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (VIN M (US))] .)
- Radiator (See RADIATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (VIN L (US))] .) (See RADIATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (VIN M (US))] .)
- Remove the condenser. (See CONDENSER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G] .)
- Inspect the condenser for cracks, damage, and oil leakage.
- If there is any malfunction, replace the condenser. (See CONDENSER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G] .)
- Visually inspect for bent fins for restriction or foreign matter.
- If any fins are restricted, remove the foreign matter.
- Visually inspect for bent fins.
- If any fins are bent, use the end of a flathead screwdriver to straighten fins.
