Diagnostic Procedure

DTC B00B5:11 (AIRBAG) (US) DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step Inspection Results Action
1 INSPECT SEAT TRACK POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT
 Yes Replace the SAS control module and perform the repair completion verification.
 
(See SAS CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM - US/CANADA SPEC.] .)
No Go to the next step.
2 INSPECT SEAT TRACK POSITION SENSOR CONNECTOR
WARNING:
Yes Replace the malfunctioning part and perform the repair completion verification.
No Go to the next step.
3 INSPECT SEAT TRACK POSITION SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND
 Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.
4 INSPECT SEAT TRACK POSITION SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
  • Seat track position sensor and SAS control module connectors are disconnected.
  • Inspect the seat track position sensor signal circuit for open circuit. (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION .)
    NOTE:
    • Inspect for open circuit while shaking the wiring harness between the SAS control module and seat track position sensor.
  • Is the circuit normal?
 Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.
5 INSPECT SEAT TRACK POSITION SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
  • Seat track position sensor and SAS control module connectors are disconnected.
  • Connect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION (US) .)
  • Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).
  • Inspect the seat track position sensor signal circuit for a short to power supply. (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION .)
    NOTE:
    • Inspect for a short to power supply while shaking the wiring harness between the SAS control module and seat track position sensor.
  • Is the circuit normal?
 Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.
Repair completion verification PERFORM SAS CONTROL MODULE DTC INSPECTION
 Yes Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
(See CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW (US) .) If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
No DTC troubleshooting completed.
