Rear Finisher Removal/Installation: Notes

  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(US)] .)
  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. Side spoiler (See SIDE SPOILER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Liftgate garnish (See LIFTGATE GARNISH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Liftgate upper trim (See LIFTGATE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Liftgate side trim (See LIFTGATE SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. Liftgate recess (See LIFTGATE RECESS REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    6. Door lock switch (liftgate) (with door lock switch (liftgate)) (See DOOR LOCK SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(US)] .)
    7. Power liftgate (PLG) rear switch (with power liftgate (PLG)) (See POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) REAR SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    8. Liftgate lower trim (See LIFTGATE LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Disconnect the connectors.

  4. Remove the nuts.

  5. Using a remover tool, remove the cap.

  6. Remove the screw.
  7. Using a remover tool, remove the clips.

  8. Insert a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver into the position shown in the illustration, rotate it in the direction of the arrow and detach the clips.

  9. Remove the rear finisher in the direction of the arrow shown in the illustration while detaching the clips.

  10. Remove the grommet.

  11. Pull the wiring harness out of the vehicle body.
  12. Remove the clips remaining on the vehicle body and install them to the rear finisher.
  13. When removing the wiring harness, perform the following procedure:
    1. Disconnect the connectors.

    2. Remove the wiring harness clip and remove the wiring harness.
  14. When removing the bracket, perform the following procedure:
    1. Remove the screws.

    2. Remove the bracket.
  15. Install in the reverse order of removal. (See REAR FINISHER INSTALLATION NOTE .)
    NOTE:
  16. Perform the 360° view monitor system aiming. (with 360° view monitor system) (See 360°VIEW MONITOR SYSTEM AIMING .)
