Diagnostic Procedure

STEP INSPECTION ACTION
1 VERIFY BCM DTCs  Yes Go to the next step.
No Go to Step 15.
2 DETERMINE THE MALFUNCTIONING LOCATION 
  • Operate the door lock-link switch lock and unlock.
  • Is there a door lock-link switch that does not operate?
Yes If the front door lock-link switch (RH) does not operate:
  • Go to the next step.

If the sliding door lock-link switch (LH) does not operate:

  • Go to Step 6.

If the sliding door lock-link switch (RH) does not operate:

  • Go to Step 9.

If all door lock-link switches do not operate:

  • Go to Step 12.
No Go to Step 14.
3 INSPECT FRONT DOOR LATCH AND LOCK ACTUATOR (RH) CONNECTOR AND TERMINALS 
  • Switch the ignition to off.
  • Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  • Disconnect the front door latch and lock actuator (RH) connector.
  • Inspect the connector and terminals (corrosion, damage, pin disconnection).
  • Is there any malfunction?
Yes Repair or replace the connector or terminals, then go to Step 14.
No Go to the next step.
4 INSPECT FRONT DOOR LOCK-LINK SWITCH (RH) GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT 
  • Verify that the front door latch and lock actuator (RH) connector is disconnected.
  • Inspect for continuity between front door latch and lock actuator (RH) terminal I (wiring harness-side) and body ground.
  • Is there continuity?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace the wiring harness for a possible open circuit, then go to Step 14.
5 INSPECT FRONT DOOR LOCK-LINK SWITCH (RH)  Yes Replace the front door latch and lock actuator (RH), then go to Step 14.

No Go to Step 14.
6 INSPECT SLIDING DOOR LOCK-LINK SWITCH (LH) CONNECTOR AND TERMINALS 
  • Switch the ignition to off.
  • Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  • Disconnect the sliding door lock-link switch (LH) connector.
  • Inspect the connector and terminals (corrosion, damage, pin disconnection).
  • Is there any malfunction?
Yes Repair or replace the connector or terminals, then go to Step 14.
No Go to the next step.
7 INSPECT SLIDING DOOR LOCK-LINK SWITCH (LH) GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT 
  • Verify that the sliding door lock-link switch (LH) connector is disconnected.
  • Inspect for continuity between sliding door lock-link switch (LH) terminal C (wiring harness-side) and body ground.
  • Is there continuity?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace the wiring harness for a possible open circuit, then go to Step 14.
8 INSPECT SLIDING DOOR LOCK-LINK SWITCH (LH)  Yes Replace the sliding door lock actuator (LH), then go to Step 14.

No Go to Step 14.
9 INSPECT SLIDING DOOR LOCK-LINK SWITCH (RH) CONNECTOR AND TERMINALS 
  • Switch the ignition to off.
  • Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  • Disconnect the sliding door lock-link switch (RH) connector.
  • Inspect the connector and terminals (corrosion, damage, pin disconnection).
  • Is there any malfunction?
Yes Repair or replace the connector or terminals, then go to Step 14.
No Go to the next step.
10 INSPECT SLIDING DOOR LOCK-LINK SWITCH (RH) GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT 
  • Verify that the sliding door lock-link switch (RH) connector is disconnected.
  • Inspect for continuity between sliding door lock-link switch (RH) terminal A (wiring harness-side) and body ground.
  • Is there continuity?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace the wiring harness for a possible open circuit, then go to Step 14.
11 INSPECT SLIDING DOOR LOCK-LINK SWITCH (RH)  Yes Replace the sliding door lock actuator (RH), then go to Step 14.

No Go to Step 14.
12 INSPECT BCM CONNECTOR AND TERMINALS 
  • Switch the ignition to off.
  • Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  • Disconnect the BCM connector.
  • Inspect the connector and terminals (corrosion, damage, pin disconnection).
  • Is there any malfunction?
Yes Repair or replace the connector or terminals, then go to Step 14.
No Go to the next step.
13 INSPECT DOOR LOCK-LINK SWITCH CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT 
  • Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
  • Reconnect the negative battery cable.
  • Switch the ignition to ON.
  • Measure the voltage at the BCM terminal 6J (wiring harness-side).
  • Is there any voltage?
Yes Repair or replace the wiring harness for a possible open circuit, then go to the next step.
No BCM internal malfunction can be considered the cause.
  • Go to the next step.
14 VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED 
  • Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
  • Reconnect the negative battery cable.
  • Clear the DTC using the M-MDS.

    (See CLEARING DTC [BCM] .)

  • Perform the BCM DTC inspection using the M-MDS.

    (See DTC INSPECTION [BCM] .)

  • Is the same DTC present?
Yes Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
Go to the next step.
No Go to the next step.
15 VERIFY THAT NO OTHER DTCs ARE PRESENT 
  • Are any DTCs present?
Yes Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

No DTC troubleshooting completed.
