Water Pump Removal / Installation - 3.0L

Drain engine coolant. See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT - 3.0L .
Remove the air cleaner outlet tube. See AIR CLEANER OUTLET TUBE REMOVAL / INSTALLATION - 3.0L .
Remove the drive belt. See DRIVE BELT REMOVAL INSTALLATION - 3.0L .
Remove the cooling fan and fan shroud. See COOLING FAN AND CLUTCH REMOVAL / INSTALLATION - 3.0L .
Remove the water pump pulley.

Disconnect the heater hose and the wiring harness anchor.

Remove the nuts and detach the fuel tube bracket and the wiring harness bracket.

Remove the nuts and detach the fuel tube bracket and the wiring harness bracket.

Disconnect the lower radiator hose.

Remove the bolts and position the mounting bracket and A/C compressor aside.

Remove the bolts and remove the water pump.

NOTE:
- Use care when scraping aluminum surfaces because gouging could form leak paths.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Clean the sealing surfaces.
Apply sealant to both sides of gasket and place it on water pump.
