Water Pump Removal / Installation - 3.0L

- Drain engine coolant. See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT - 3.0L .
- Remove the air cleaner outlet tube. See AIR CLEANER OUTLET TUBE REMOVAL / INSTALLATION - 3.0L .
- Remove the drive belt. See DRIVE BELT REMOVAL INSTALLATION - 3.0L .
- Remove the cooling fan and fan shroud. See COOLING FAN AND CLUTCH REMOVAL / INSTALLATION - 3.0L .
- Remove the water pump pulley.
- Disconnect the heater hose and the wiring harness anchor.
- Remove the nuts and detach the fuel tube bracket and the wiring harness bracket.
- Remove the nuts and detach the fuel tube bracket and the wiring harness bracket.
- Disconnect the lower radiator hose.
- Remove the bolts and position the mounting bracket and A/C compressor aside.
- Remove the bolts and remove the water pump.
NOTE:
- Use care when scraping aluminum surfaces because gouging could form leak paths.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Clean the sealing surfaces.
- Apply sealant to both sides of gasket and place it on water pump.
