Pickup Bed Lean - Measurements

  1. Check the vehicle ride height. See SUSPENSION DESIGN HEIGHT SETTING .
  2. Check the vehicle frame height. See UNDER-BODY MISALIGNMENT CHECK  .
  3. Measure and record the distance from the top center of both wheel well lips and calculate the difference.
  4. If the difference between the 2 sides is between 0 and 6.50 mm (0 and 0.25 in), do nothing.
  5. If the difference between the 2 measurements is between 6.50 and 18.00 mm (0.25 and 0.70 in) shim the axle. See PICKUP BED LEAN - SHIMMING, AXLE  .
  6. If the difference between the 2 measurements is between 18.00 and 30.50 mm (0.70 and 1.20 in), shim the pickup bed. See PICKUP BED LEAN - SHIMMING, BED  .
  7. If the difference is greater than 30.50 mm (1.20 in), shim both the axle and the pickup bed. See PICKUP BED LEAN - SHIMMING, AXLE  and PICKUP BED LEAN - SHIMMING, BED  .
  8. Align the pickup bed. See PICKUP BED ALIGNMENT  .
